시편집의 탄원시편 분포와 기도의 여정

국문 초록

시편집의 구성에 관한 연구들에서는 대체로 시편집이 직선적 발전을 보인다고 이해하는데, 그 가운데 하나가 시편집이 “탄원에서 찬양으로”라는 기도의 여정을 반영한다는 견해이다. 본 논문에서는 이에 이의를 제기하면서 탄원시편의 분포에 초점을 맞추어 시편집의 구성을 파악하고 그러한 구성이 제시하는 기도의 여정이 어떤 것인지 알아보고자 한다. 시편집의 여러 구성단위들을 관찰할 때 시편집 1권의 네 부분에서 탄원 - 찬양 - 감사 - 탄원의 흐름을 볼 수 있고, 시편집 2권과 3권 역시 편집자의 의도적인 개입에 의하여 1권과 마찬가지로 탄원으로 끝맺는 것을 볼 수 있다. 각별히 주목할 것은 시편집 5권이다. 시편집 4권의 하느님의 통치시편들에서 찬양이 절정에 달한 다음, 시편집 5권에서는 고유한 요소인 할렐루야 시편들과 (주로 찬양시편들) 함께 1-3권에서와 같은 다윗시편들(주로 탄원시편들)이 번갈아 배치되어 있어, 편집자가 탄원에서 찬양으로 이른 다음 다시 탄원으로 돌아가는 여정을 구성하고자 했음을 알 수 있다. 이렇게 볼 때 시편집이 제시하는 기도의 여정은 탄원에서 찬양으로 옮아가 거기에서 종착되는 것이 아니라 다시 탄원으로 돌아가는 것이며, 이러한 맥락에서 시편집의 찬양은 처음 탄원이 나왔던 것과 동일한 외적 상황 안에서 하느님께 대한 신앙을 고백하는 것이라고 이해하게 된다.

영문 초록

Recent studies on the composition of the Psalter show a strong tendency to recognize a linear development in the Book of Psalter, contrasting Book Ⅰ-Ⅲ with Book Ⅳ-Ⅴ. They include a view that the Psalter reflects an itinerary of prayer ‘from lament to praise.’ This article questions such a view and looks into the composition of the Psalter on the basis of the distribution of the lamentations. The itinerary of ‘lament-praise-thanksgiving-lament’ is observable in Book Ⅰ. Book Ⅱ and Ⅲ are also concluded by a lamentation that is inserted deliberately by a redactor. Book Ⅴ deserves a particular attention. Praise reaches to the heights in the Psalms of the Kingship of YHWH in Book Ⅳ. Then, in Book Ⅴ the Halleluiah Psalms (predominantly praises), which are the proper element of the Book, are followed by the Psalms of David (predominantly lamentations) taken from Book Ⅰ-Ⅲ. Such a composition reveals that the redactor wanted to form an itinerary that moves from lament to praise and then back to lament. This leads us to understand praises in the Psalter as confessions of faith in God uttered in the same circumstances of life from which lamentations arose in the beginning.
