한국 태권도 철학의 과제와 삼원(三元)철학

국문 초록

본 논문에서 필자는 태권도 철학이 한국전통의 고유사상과 접목됨에 따라서 생겨나는 철학적ㆍ논리적 과제를 분석하고 이에 대한 해결책을 논의한다. 이때의 한국 고유사상은 여러 학자들이 공통적으로 주장하는 삼원(三元)철학, 즉 천지인(天地人) 삼재론이다. 삼원철학이 한국의 고유철학이면서 태권도철학의 핵심이라는 데에 학자들의 합의가 있는 것은 사실이지만 이에 따라서 “태권도와 삼원철학이 어떻게 연관되는가?”라는 철학적 과제가 주어진다. 이 논문에서 필자는 여러 대안적인 태권도 철학이론 중에서 삼재강유론이 태권도와 한국의 고유사상으로서의 삼재론의 연관성을 분명히 설명함을 주장할 것이다. 그리고 이에 따라서 다음의 세 가지 철학적 과제가 추가적으로 생겨남을 보이고 그에 대한 설명을 시도할 것이다. 1) 삼재강유론에 포함된 삼재의 해석은 적절한가? 2) 삼재강유론이 설명하는 태권도에 대한 내용은 실제적인가? 3) 다른 태권도 철학의 내용은 삼재강유론과 어떤 관계에 있는가? 이 전체 논의과정의 끝에서 삼재강유론과 경쟁관계에 있는 태권도 철학이론인 허실론과 강유론의 한계점을 지적하고 이 이론들이 발전적으로 재해석될 수 있는 방향을 제시하도록 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to: (1) analyze a philosophical and logical task that originates from merging Korean traditional Philosophy and Taekwondo Philosophy; and (2) discuss its solution. The Korean Traditional Philosophy has been regarding as the Samwon (three-material) Theory, Samjae-theory, which all most every scholars insist as the Korean Traditional Philosophy. There has been an agreement about the fact that it is the Korean unique traditional philosophy and also the key concept of Taekwondo philosophy. However, there is a new philosophical task such as ‘how Taekwondo is related to Samwon theory’. Thus, this study will investigate connection between the theory of Samjae and Kang-Yu. In respect of the task, there are three philosophical tasks as the followings: (1) Is the interpretation of Samjae in Samjae and Kang-Yu theory appropriate?; (2) Is what Samjae and Kang-Yu theory explains about Taekwondo is realistic?; and (3) What connection do the other Taekwondo Philosophies have with Samjae and Kang-Yu Theory? At the end this study will notice some limits about theories of Heosil and Kang-yu that competes Samjae and Kang-Yu Theory, and also suggest a direction to reinterpret the theories efficiently.
