국문 초록

이번 연구에서는 국어교육에서 매체언어교육의 필요성을 인정하면서도 지금까지 교수-학습 차원에서는 본격적으로 실현하지 못하고 있는 현실을 감안하여 현장 학교의 교수-학습 상황에서 적용할 수 있는 방안의 하나로 인터넷 신문 교육에 대한 논의를 전개하고자 한다. 이번 연구의 목적은 인터넷 신문 교육을 통해 학습자의 비판적 문식성과 사회적 소통능력을 향상시키는 데 있다. 또한 인터넷 신문 뉴스 읽기와 댓글을 쓰는 과정을 통해 바람직한 태도를 기르는 것도 목적으로 하고 있다. 이는 학습자가 인터넷 신문의 다양한 뉴스를 비교하고 대조하는 과정에서 사회적 현상을 비판적으로 바라볼 수 있음에 주목한 것이다. 그리고 학습자가 인터넷 신문의 뉴스를 읽고 댓글을 작성하는 과정은 곧 언어의 사회적 소통 맥락을 경험할 수 있는 과정이라는 점도 눈여겨 본 것이다. 한편 이러한 인터넷 신문 뉴스의 읽기와 댓글 쓰기 활동을 통해 학습자는 뉴스와 댓글을 무비판적으로 신뢰하거나 혹은 무조건적 비판만 일삼는 태도를 경계하게 될 것이다. 이처럼 인터넷 신문 교육은 언어의 사회적 소통 경험을 제공할 수 있다는 측면에서 국어교육의 중요한 교육 내용으로 자리 잡을 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 2007 교육과정에서 인터넷 신문을 담화의 유형으로 선정하지 않아, 실제 교수-학습으로 구현하기에는 제한점이 있을 수 있다. 이런 이유에서 이번 연구에서는 그동안 국어교육에서 전개된 인터넷 신문 교육의 논의를 정리하고, 그 성과와 한계를 점검하여 이를 바탕으로 실제 현장의 연구 수업을 통해 인터넷 신문 교육의 교수-학습 가능성을 진단함으로써 인터넷 신문 교육이 학교 현장에 적용될 수 있는 이론적 체계를 마련할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this research, I am going to develop an argument on internet newspaper in education as a way of adapting it to the on-the-spot teaching and learning situations in secondary schools, considering the reality that media language education in Korean language education is not regularized while approving the necessity of it. The purpose of this research lies in improving learners’ critical literacy and social communicative competence through internet newspaper education. It also has the goal of developing desirable attitude via reading internet news and adding replies. This is based on the notion that learners can acquire the ability to see the society from a critical perspective through the process of comparing diverse news on the internet. This takes into account as well the view that the process of learners’ reading internet news and writing replies is that of experiencing the context of social communication each language has. With the process mentioned above, learners will beware of blindly accepting the news and the replies on the internet or unconditionally criticizing them. In this way, internet newspaper instruction will be able to establish itself as a meaningful means of teaching Korean language in that it can provide the experience of social communication language itself has. However, as the 2007 Curriculum didn’t adopt the internet newspaper as a form of discourse, it may have limitation in making itself a realistic instructing and learning model. Accordingly, this research will integrate the various arguments having been made on internet newspaper education in Korean language instruction, and will clearly present the features of it combined with its achievements and limitations. By giving on-the-spot research teaching several times based on this concept and diagnosing the potential of internet newspaper education as a new instructing and learning model, I have drawn a theoretical frame in which internet newspaper education can be applied to field education.
