국문 초록

우리사회 교육기관의 한 부분을 담당하고 있는 중요한 개체로서의 박물관의 역할을 한마디로 정의 하기는 어렵지만 그 지향점은 질적으로 향상된 교육을 통한 인성함양 및 교육이상의 실현에 있다. 최근 들어 박물관에 대한 대중들의 관심과 기대가 예전과는 다르게 한층 더 적극적으로 나타나고 대중들의 성격과 기호에 호응하려하는 박물관의 기획과 이해를 위한 교육기능을 나름 수행해 오고 있으나 이를 수용하는 문화소비자는 아주 극소수에 불과하다. 이는 여전히 박물관과 미술관에 대한 접근인식이 자연스럽게 이뤄지지 못하고 단순히 소장품과 전시물을 관람하는 곳이라고 생각하고 있기 때문이다. 이러한 기존의 인식을 타파하고 바람직한 기관과 대중의 문화소통을 위해 현재의 박물관은 수집과 보존연구, 전시교육의 역할 중에서 벗어나 소장품의 가치와 정보, 문화의 주체적인 인식을 교육하는 기능을 강조해내야 한다. 그러므로 교육프로그램은 박물관의 교육대상에 걸 맞는 교육목표를 설정하고 이에 적절한 교육방법을 연구하여 주입식 교육프로그램을 운영하는 현실에서 벗어나 체험적 교육의 기능을 내재한 프로그램 개발을 통해 변화와 발전을 모색해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 현재 우리의 교육환경과 박물관의 구조적 실정에 맞는 내용을 국내외의 사례를 통해 분석, 연구하여 좀 더 나은 내일의 박물관 교육의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

It is hard to define the role of a museum that plays an important part as an educational in the Korean society in one word, but it is generally believed to aim at nurturing character and realizing educational ideal through improved education. As a growing number of people have recently developed interest in museums, museums have stepped up their efforts to accommodate the public demand and taste through education based on planning and understanding, but only a few cultural consumers are ready to benefit from them. It is due to the fact that approaches toward museums and art galleries are not natural, and that many believe that they are places to exhibit art collections. In order to overcome these stereotypes and facilitate cultural communications with the general public, museum need to go beyond its current roles focused on collection, preservation, research and education through exhibitions and further emphasize on the value, information and recognition with regard to art collection. In this regard, educational programs for offered by a museum need to set educational objectives appropriate to subjects and figure proper educational methods in order to overcome rote learning-oriented educational programs while pushing for changes and development based on experience-intensive programs. In this study, the content that it fits for our environment of education and the structural condition of museum was analyzed through various cases of domestic & foreign. On the basis of this research, I'm going to present a little better direction to the future museum education.
