취학전 단순언어장애아동의 음운인식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

언어연령 4～5세의 취학 전 단순언어장애아동들과, 이와 생활연령 및 언어연령을 일치시킨 일반아동들간의 음운인식능력을 비교하고자 하였다. 방법: 실험집단은 단순언어장애아동 15명을, 그리고 통제집단의 경우는 생활연령 및 언어연령을 일치시킨 아동 각 15명씩으로 전체 45명의 아동들을 대상으로 하여, 각 집단의 음운인식검사의 총점수를 비롯한 과제별(변별 및 분절), 음운구조별(음절 및 음소), 음운위치별(첫음절, 끝음절, 첫음소, 끝음소) 음운인식능력을 살펴보았다. 결과 및 결론: 단순언어장애아동들은 생활연령을 일치시킨 일반아동들에 비해 유의미하게 낮은 수행을 보였다. 특히 음운구조와 음운위치에 따른 음운인식능력은 음절수준보다는 음소수준에서 단순언어장애아동집단과 일반아동집단간의 능력차이가 관찰되었다. 그러나 단순언어장애아동과 언어연령을 일치시킨 일반아동간에 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않은 것으로 나타나, 단순언어장애아동은 일반아동에 비해 음운인식능력에서 두드러진 결함을 보이는 것은 아닌 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the present study was to compare the characteristics of phonological awareness between children with Specific Language Impairment(SLI) and two groups of normal children. The normal two groups consist of one matched by language age(N-LA) and the other by chronological age(N-CA) with the SLI children. Methods: A total of 45 children(15 SLI, 15 N-LA, and 15 N-CA) participated in the study. The children were given 20 phonological discrimination(i.e., 10 syllable & 10 phoneme) tasks and 28 phonological segmentation(i..e., 14 syllable & 14 phoneme) tasks. One-way ANOVA was used to test for statistically significant differences. Results & Conclusion: The total score of the phonological awareness tasks of children with SLI was significantly lower than that of the N-CA controls. Additionally, significant differences were found for each type of task(discrimination and segmentation) between the SLI and the N-CA, and between the N-CA and N-LA groups. Significant differences were also found for each type of phonological structure(syllables and phonemes) among all three groups. Finally, significant differences were found between the N-LA and N-CA groups, but not between children with SLI and either control group for either type of phonological place(onset and final places). From the results of the study, we may conclude that SLI children may not display distinct deficits in phonological awareness ability compared with normal children.
