국문 초록

眉叟 許穆(1595-1682)은 한국서예의 역사상 독특한 위치를 차지한다. 특히 그의 전서(이하 ‘眉篆’으로 칭함)는 전후를 통틀어 보더라도 그와 흡사한 書風조차발견하기가 매우 어렵다. 근래 한국 서예학계에서 眉篆에 대한 관심이 증폭하는 것은 이 때문이다. 다만 기괴하고 신비감마저 흐르는 眉篆의 마력에 관심이 날로 높아가지만, 그에 걸맞은 연구는 미진하다. 이는 일차적으로 미수에 대한 연구에 있어 선행연구자의 正誤를 구별해 낼 정도의 학문적 축적과 역량이 부족하기 때문이다. 아울러 선행연구에 대한 비판능력을 갖추지 못한 채 답습에 머문 연구방식이답보되고 있다는 점도 문제이다.주지하다시피 양란을 기점으로 중세사회 체제의 동요 및 붕괴현상이 일어났던16세기 후반과 17세기는 ‘주자학이 곧 유학’이라는 통념을 거부한 시기이다. 그로인해 인식 ․ 사유방식의 변화가 일어나면서 소위 反朱子學이 등장한다. 이러한 변화의 핵심처에 미수 허목이 자리하고 있다. 미수는 자신의 학문을 古禮 ․ 古經 ․ 古文 ․ 古篆에 근거하고 있음을 천명하고 철저하게 六經 중심의 학문을 실천하였다.그렇기 때문에 그의 書藝觀 역시 古篆을 중시하는 경향을 보인다는 것은 필연이라해야 할 것이다.특히 미수는 조선사회 뿐 아니라 동아시아에서의 문자학적 소양이 가장 깊었던인물이었다. 그가 문자학적으로나 예술소재로서 예서에 대한 가치를 느끼지 못한것은 바로 古文字 존숭을 철저하게 자신의 서예관으로 삼았기 때문이다. 그러므로의 예술은 철저한 고문자 제일주의 정신의 예술적 승화라고 할 수 있다.미전의 특징을 말할 때 흔히 신비감을 내포한 流動的 蒼古美를 장법에 용해시켜독특한 氣風의 아름다움을 발현했다고 한다. 즉, 미수 특유의 상고적 학풍을 바탕으로 근본을 중시하는 정신미를 필획에 응축시키고, 古文字의 깊고 넓은 섭렵을 통한 奇怪險絶한 조형미를 결구에 도입한 결과인 것이다. 아울러 필획에 응축된 그의철학적 정신미는 그에 대한 연구 가치를 드높이는 원인이다.그럼에도 불구하고 미수의 높은 학식과 예술적 재량, 특히 문자학적 소양에는오늘날 사람들이 미치지 못하고 있고, 아울러 眉篆의 명맥 또한 유지되지 못하고 있다. 이는 바꿔 말하면, 선행연구에 대한 분석을 통해 미전의 예술적 가치에 대한파악이 시대적으로 요구되는 것이기도 하다. 이에 본고는 미미하나마 미전에 대한선행연구를 통해 그 오류를 시정함으로써 추후 연구 과제를 새롭게 제언하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Misu Heomok(眉叟許穆, 1595-1682)was very Special position to in the Korea history for the calligraphy. He is writing in seal characters saying has the Mi-Jeon ‘(眉篆)', that is meaning writing in seal characters person's stylist. The calligraphy style Special, so not able to saw that his style calligraphy. Our greatest concern is more and more limelight his calligraphy. He was to writings according to sudjet which was different from the preexisting method of classifying works based on genres. The calligraphy metod was unique and unprecedented in the history of Korea. That Misu decided to seems to be not unrelated with his calligraphy. The purpose of about Misu thouhgt of coverage was unsatisfactory and The criticism is short of ability. From the 16th century downward society medieval times and collaps the present situation. By the 17th century is declined to common idea. He was saying to Go-Chea(古體) Go-kyung (古經) Go-Moon (古文) Go-jeun (古篆) for the his studies. He was a representative saholar of Ceremony and he was the leading figure of the Dispute of ceremony. At the same time he as the leading expert of a school of Banjujahak (反朱子學) has invented characteristic academic traditions. in the existing research they would like to consider him as the scholar of Classical Studies around the Six Classics(六經) and his theory of Ceremony as well. But these way of understding is not positive whether their analysis has been a close connection to his philosophy in other words the theory of Unity and Mind dnd jeon-sou(篆書) though of the actual in to be solve. due to the consideration that one's saying will remain and be know next generation and clarifying the responsiblility of the saying. Misu wrore down his thought to the same effect in the introducrion to his calligraphy. By doing so , he took implicit pride that he himself was prudent in saying and doing and there would be calligraphy. And then thes essay would like to make a starting point to reach the goal for approaching to the whole aspect of HeoMok's thought by a roughly descripition about Classical studies, the theory of actual in to be solve. Misu Heomok's characteristic is mystique, liquidity, classical beauty. so that is appreciate the beauties of calligraphy.
