국문 초록

인체에 대한 안전성이 이미 알려진 천연물질 폴리페놀 성분 중 catechin, quercetin, EGCG와 tannic acid로 생식기 질환과 다른 신체부위에 심각한 합병증까지 유발하는 병균인 C. albicans 및 임질균 N. gonorrhoea에 대하여 살균 효과를 검사한 결과, catechin으로 두 가지 병균 모두 완전살균이 가능하였고, tannic acid로는 C. albicans에만 catechin보 다 다소 저조한 살균효과를 얻은 반면, EGCG나 qurcetin으로는 현재까지 밝혀진 다른 항균작용에 도 불구하고 실험한 두 가지 생식기 질환균에 대하여 모두 미진한 살균작용에 그치거나 역효과를 보이기도 하였다. 유의성 있게 효과를 보이는 catechin이나 tannic acid는 인체에 저해가 없는 천연물질로서 자궁내막염 및 질염 외에 남성에게도 발병되는 임질 또는 요도염 등의 생식기 염증의 예방 또는 치료용으로 유용할 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

Polyphenol is known as the antioxidant, antiaging, anticancer, antiinflammatory and antimicrobial effector, etc. But the studies of the antimicrobial effects that act on diseases of the reproductive organs have not reported yet. In our experimental studies of catechin, EGCG, quercetin and tannic acid, their antimicrobial effects that restraint Candida albicans and Neisseria gonorrhoea which induce dangerous reproductive diseases appeared differently at various concentration. According to the experiment, 3% catechin showed perfect antimicrobial effect on C. albicans and N. gonorrhoea, but 1% tannic acid resulted 81% antimicrobial effect only on C. albicans. And EGCG and quercetin both showed non-significant effect on C. albicans and N. gonorrhoea, while the number of C. albicans rather increased in 2% concentration of EGCG. As for these results, the significant effects of catechin and tannic acid can be useful for the protection and medical care for the reproductive inflammatory diseases such as candidosis, vaginitis, gonorrhoea, urethretis, etc.
