영문 초록

As the result of study on Tea-Tao of Yi Kyu-bo(李奎報, 1168~1241), who was a government offical and Buddhist layman and teaist of Ko Jong in Koryo dynasty, the result can be summerized as follows. His long piece reciting suckling tea was a profitable historical materials which showed the status of operation for Tea Point in Koryo era. Through his poetry. on tea, we knew that lump tea as the procedure(茶所) of whisk the tea was whisked and drunk in the 12~13th century of Koryo era. Tea and tea utensils of a Koryo's and Sung's was jointly used. And there were flowers for tea and burning incense in a tea room. Furthermore we knew that there was a Tea Contrast(茗戰) customs in those days. In consideration of a verse in his poetry, “There was diabetes in ancient times,” we think that he cured a patient of his diabetes with catechin constituent of tea. There was a saying also in China of “Tea and Buddha Are of the Same Taste,” (茶佛一味) but the theis seems to have been first uttered by Yi Kyu-bo of Koryo in his poem on tea: In response to the repartee poem of Bang Boyon, who passed the state examination with top honors. I will answer, following his rhyme. “Some other day, I will knock at the cottage in the shrubs for Zen sitting. And I will discuss the deep meanings of a few books. Even if I am old, I can still scoop a cup of clean water from the spring. And I believe a cup of tea is the very beginning of Zen.”
