영문 초록

These experiments were conducted to investigate the functional response and oviposition of the predatory mite, Amblyseius womersleyi at the different densities and stages of tea red spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai. The functional response curve of the adult A. womersleyi to the density of eggs, larvae, and nymphs of T. kanzawai indicated Holling`s Type Ⅱ (saturation type): the consumption of prey by the adult A. womersleyi increased with the prey density but the consumption rate decreased. The number of eggs laid by the adult A. womersleyi to the density of each developmental stage of T. kanzawai tended to increase with increasing prey density of 32~64. High level of prey slightly decreased the oviposition of A. womersleyi. Results are discussed in relation to the optimum release ratio of A. womersleyi for biological control or integrated management of T. kanzawai.
