영문 초록

  The amount of mobilization of materials resource of port has been increasing by revival of world business as well as high growth of economy of China these days. However, these harbor competition has activated for the mega ports. Like a small port, Mokpo port is behind the harbor competition and its management condition is growing worse because of the small amount of mobilization of materials resource. Therefore, it doesn"t affect to the local economy.
  The purpose of this study was to suggest policy alternatives for attracting to the property owners and shipping companies.
  In order to succeed the purpose of this study, it carried out the study procedure and methods. It was investigated how the property owners and shipping companies selected the ports through literature reviews. It also made the survey by proceeding study and literature reviews. The empirical analysis for the survey data was used Hangul SPSS 10.0 version. Through Cronbach"s Alpha, it provided reliability for the factors of selecting Mokpo port. The result was as follows; The Cronbach"s value was 0.7678 and value of standard variables was 0.7869. The integrated variables had 0.7 values at least. It showed inner coherency and the result was reliable. It evaluated the propriety by factor analysis. Four factors ranked high which has more than 1 eigenvalue were sampled. The four factors showed propriety with 65.17% of variance explain.
  This result suggested Mokpo port should develop the port infra facilities such as port and solubility of terminal and shipping and encourage the quality of service and provide more information. In addition, it is also important that it should promote and develop hinterland of port and effective network with cargo field.
  Based on the survey, this study also suggested the improvement of Mokpo port and general guidelines and further developments.
