It has long been known that obesity is one of the most common chronic diseases and a major public health problem Obesity occurred to accumulate excess of fat tissue. A lot of studies have shown that fat tissue is not a simple energy storage organ, but exerts important endocrine. It include proteins involved in the regulation of energy balance, lipid and glucose metabolism.
Particularly abdominal visceral fat accumulation, is the most common risk factor of diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and atherosclerotic vascular diseases. Recently, it has been shown that adipocytokines secrete several proteins including tumour necrosis factor-α, interleukin-6, resistin, and adiponectin etc. The effects of adipocytokines on vascular function, immune regulation and adipocyte metabolism makes them key players in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome, a cluster of clinical symptoms including obesity, insulin resistance. In addition, various studies have shown that related between exercise and adipocytokines and reported not only positive effect but also negative effect by exercise. But lots of exercise studies have shown that moderate-intensity training is more effective in improving than low or high-intensity training to adipocytokine. Therefore, these studies suggest that change in adipocytokines are influenced by exercise. Further studies are required to discover the new adipocytokine and to investigate the causal relationship between exercise and change in adipocytokines levels.
