영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to explore how socio-demographic variables, stress variables & coping strategies affect adolescents" perceived quality of life. The subjects of this study involved total of 460 students from three academic high schools and three vocational high schools in Chungbuk province. Data by questionnaire method were analysed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, hierarchical multiple regression using SPSSWIN program. The results of this study were ; 1) socio-demographics such as religion and socio-economic status were found to have impacts on the adolescents" perceived stress. High school student"s stress coping strategies did not show significant differences by socio-demographic variables.. 2) Differences were found in high school student"s perception on quality of life including self-related, relationship-related, environment-related, & general quality of life according to socio-demographics. 3) Socio-demographic, stress variables & coping strategies had significant effects on adolescent quality of life. Especially, stress coping strategies of adolescents stood out as the most powerful predictor of adolescents" quality of life. Adolescents with planned problem solving coping strategy were found to demonstrate the higher quality of life.
