국문 초록

  본고는 해방이후 1960년까지 예금과 대출을 중심으로 부산금융의 변화와 그 특징을 분석하고자 하였다. 금융부문의 특징을 파악하기 위해서는 금융기관의 예금 및 대출에 관한 총량적 지표뿐만 아니라 종류별, 은행별, 용도별 내역을 구체적으로 검토해야 한다. 그러나 이 시기에는 지역경제에 대한 관심부족으로 이에 대한 자료가 거의 전무한 실정이다. 그러므로 여기서는 전국 및 서울, 대구 등 주요 도시의 금액과 비교하는 간접적 방식을 이용하였다. 해방 이후 1960년까지 은행과 금융조합(농업은행)의 예금 및 대출금은 경상가격으로 수천 배씩 증가했으나, 불변가격으로 환산해보면 전국과 서울의 예대출금이 1945년 말의 수준을 회복한 것은 대체로 1950년대 말 혹은 1960년대였던 것으로 드러났다. 이에 비해 가장 극적인 변화를 보인 부산은 한국전쟁을 계기로 1951년에 이미 1945년의 수준을 회복했으며, 전국에서 차지하는 비중도 크게 증가하였다. 휴전 이후 그 비중이 점차 감소해 갔지만 전쟁 전과 비교하여 대체로 높은 수준을 유지했다. 이것은 금융면에서도 경부성장축이 한국전쟁을 계기로 강화된 것은 반영하는 것으로 보이는데, 이러한 현상은 부산지역에서 고무, 섬유, 목재 등 제2차 산업이 발달했던 것과 밀접한 관련이 있었던 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

  This article analyzes the changes of finance in Busan with focusing on deposits and loans from 1945, after the liberation, to 1960. The financial data of Busan during this period have been rarely left, due to the lack of concern about the regional economy. That is why this article applies an indirect method to compare the data of Busan with those of major cities, such as Seoul, Daegu, etc. and the whole country. The deposits and the loans of banks in Korea increased to several thousand times during this period in terms of the variable price. Converted into the constant price, however, it is at the end of the 1950s or in the 1960s that the deposits and the loans of Seoul and the whole country recovered the levels of 1945. Compared with this, Busan shows a most dramatic change that, taking the Korean War as a turning point, it had already restored to the levels of 1945 in 1951 and it was radically given much more weight in the deposits and the loans of the whole country than before the War. Even after the armistice in 1953, Busan still kept a high level, in spite of a gradual decrease of weight. This reflects that Gyeong-Bu(Seoul-Busan) growth axis was strengthened because of the Korean War, which is closely related with the fact that the second industry, such as rubber, textiles, lumber and so on, was developed in Busan.
