영문 초록

Recently, cyber-education systems have been widely used; commercial online websites run by companies as well as cyber-classes or cyber-universities are rapidly increasing. These systems have been implemented, focusing on conveying educational contents and communicating for lecture rather than managing tests. The test management is always included in normal educational courses. Nevertheless, test management functions are not supported effectively in most of the cyber-education systems yet. Therefore, this paper proposes a Web-based information system, called Hypermedia Examination System (HES), which can provide various functions to support a series of tasks including creating test problems, controlling tests, and evaluating/announcing. To demonstrate the usefulness of the HES, a practical case is illustrated with the functions of HES. However, for enhancing the capability of HES, a few highly technical functions need to be complemented; these issues and approaches are also discussed in this paper. Furthermore, in order to review the feasibility of the HES, this paper analyzes the users I perception of the tests based on the system through a survey. The results show that most of the users responded positively regardless of their abilities to use computers and Internet services. We expect that the proposed system can complement other cyber-education systems already developed or to be developed.
