국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국 전통춤과 음악 언어 간의 관계성을 살펴보고, 두 관계에서 나타나는 예술교육적 함의를 탐구하는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 한국 전통춤에서 음악 언어가 어떻게 발현되어 관계 맺고 있는지 경기도당굿과 화성재인청 사례를 통해 파악하였다. 더불어, 한국 전통춤과 음악 언어 간의 관계에서 예술교육적 함의를 탐구하기 위해, 크리티안센과 닉 채터의 언어이론인 언어의 ‘찰나적 속성과 자생적 질서’에 주목하였다. 연구 결과, 전통춤과 음악 언어는 긴요한 관계를 맺어 끊임없이 재창조될 뿐 아니라, 자기표현성과 즉흥성으로 인간사를 표현하는 등 예술교육적 의미가 있었다. 특히, 경기도당굿과 화성재인청 춤은 음악 언어가 ‘과거-현재-미래를 연결하는 매개체’로서, 쌍방향적이고 유동적으로 협력하여 재구성되고 전승되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해, 본 연구는 전통춤과 음악언어의 관계가 생명체와 유사하게 성장과 진화의 과정을 거쳐 현대에 맞게 재창조된다는 점을 예술교육적 의미로 밝혔다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines the relationship between Korean traditional dance and musical language and explores the implications of arts education in the two relationships. To this end, we identified how the musical language is expressed and related to Korean traditional dance through the cases of Gyeonggi-do Danggut and Hwaseong Jae-in-cheong. Moreover, we focused on Morten H. Christiansen and Nick Chater's language theory of 'ephemeral properties and language as a self-organizing system' of language to explore the art education implications of the relationship between Korean traditional dance and musical language. As a result of this study, traditional dance and musical language form an intimate relationship to reinvent constantly, and there is arts educational significance, such as expressing human history with self-expression and improvisation. In particular, Gyeonggi-do Dang-gut and Hwaseong Jaein-cheong dances were reconstructed and transmitted in two-way and fluid cooperation as musical language, "a medium connecting the past, present, and future." Through these results, this study is significant in that it reveals in arts education terms that the relationship between traditional dance and musical language is recreated for modern times through a process of growth and evolution similar to that of living things.
