국문 초록

한국연구재단은 2010년도부터 예비교사의 다문화에 대한 이해를 높일 목적으로 교육대학과 사범대학에 다문화교육 강좌를 지원하는 사업을 수행해오고 있다. 4년째 접어드는 이 사업의 성과를 측정할 필요가 있으나 아직 표준화된 방법으로 측정된 바가 없다. 다문화교육 강좌 지원 사업의 성과를 측정하기 위한 방법으로 강좌의 수강생들이 다문화에 대해 얼마나 이해하고 받아들이는지를 파악해 볼 수 있고, 이는 수강생들의 다문화 감수성을 측정해 봄으로써 가능하다. 이 연구는 다문화교육강좌를 수강하는 예비교사들을 대상으로 하는 다문화감수성 측정 도구를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 여러 학자들에 의해 개발된 다문화감수성 측정 도구는 각자 특장점을 갖고 있으나 다문화교육 강좌의 특성을 반영하는 다문화적 감수성을 측정하기에는 적합하지 않아 다문화감수성 측정 도구를 새롭게 개발할 필요성이 발견되었다. 둘째, 선행 연구를 기초로 예비 문항을 추출하여 구성한 예비 검사도구를 이용하여 예비 검사를 한 결과 6개 영역, 34개 문항으로 구성된 1차 본 검사 도구를 개발하였다. 셋째, 1차 본검사 도구를 이용하여 교대와 사범대에 재학중인 523명의 학생을 대상으로 조사를 수행하여 그 결과를 기초로 6개 영역, 24개 문항으로 구성된 다문화감수성 척도 초안을 완성하였다. 넷째, 다문화감수성 척도 초안에 대해 다문화교육 전문가 3인이 2차례 검토를 하였고, 이들이 제시한 검토 의견에 따라 척도 초안을 수정 및 보완하여 6개 영역, 25개 문항으로 구성된 다문화감수성 척도를 완성하였다.

영문 초록

The program supporting ‘multicultural education’ course has been performed by the National Research Foundation of Korea from 2010, what aims for enhancing the multicultural understanding of pre-service teachers in national universities of education and colleges of education. It is required to measure the result of this four-year-old program, but it has not been surveyed using a standardized method yet. We need to find how well students attending the ‘multicultural education’ course understand and accept multiculture to measure the result of the program supporting ‘multicultural education’ course. This study aims to develop the scale for measuring the multicultural sensitivity of pre-service teachers attending multicultural education class. These are the results of this study. First, multicultural sensitivity scales developed by several scholars have unique features each, but they are not very well matched for measuring the multicultural sensitivity reflecting the features of the ‘multicultural education’ course. Thus it is needed to develop the new multicultural sensitivity scale. Second, a preliminary scale was made up on the basis of leading researches, and the preliminary test was conducted using this scale. Thus, first main scale consisted of six factors, 34 items were developed. Third, main survey using this scale was conducted about 523 students attending a university of education and a college of education. A draft multicultural sensitivity scale consisted of six factors, 24 items was composed on the basis of the result of the survey. Fourth, the draft multicultural sensitivity scale was reviewed two times by three multicultural education experts, and it was modified and supplemented according to the reviews, and the final multicultural sensitivity scale consisted of six factors, 25 items was developed.
