유아세계시민교육을 위한 ‘글로벌 친구 만들기 프로젝트’ 적용에 관한 실행 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아세계시민교육을 위한 ‘글로벌 친구 만들기 프로젝트’를 적용 과정을 실행연구로 살펴봄으로써, 교육적 효과와 시사점을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 A시 햇빛유치원의 교사 2명과 만 5세반 유아 28명씩, 총 56명이다. 12주간 중국 센젠의 H 학교 만 5세 25명을 대상으로 유아들의 인사, 편지, 사진, 작품 등의 동영상과 사진을 이메일로 교류하고, 편지 펜팔을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 실행 과정은 ‘유아세계시민교육의 필요성 인식과 반성적 접근’, ‘유아세계시민교육의 새로운 접근: 글로벌 친구 만들기 프로젝트 구성하기’, ‘글로벌 친구에게 인사 건네기와 첫 대면’, ‘글로벌 친구에게 일상 소개하기와 초대하기’, ‘글로벌 친구와 함께 살기’, ‘지속과 미래를 위한 종합 토의 및 평가’로 나타났다. 둘째, 실행의 효과는 ‘유아 차원’에서는 ‘공통점에 집중하는 세계관 형성’, ‘친구의 재개념화’, ‘사회적 조망수용능력의 향상’, ‘외국어에 대한 관심 향상’으로 나타났고, ‘교사 차원’에서는 ‘1년간의 통합적 유아세계시민 교육과정 구성’, ‘세계시민교육 실제의 심화 적용’, ‘교육목표 수준의 향상’이다. 본 연구의 시사점은 가상 국제교류 형태의 유아세계시민교육이 유아교육과정 1년 통합, 반편견 교육 프로그램, 친사회적 프로그램, 다문화 언어교육 프로그램으로서의 가능성을 가진다는 점을 밝힌 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the process of planning and implementing early childhood global citizenship education through a making global friends project that is a virtual intercultural exchange. The participants were two teachers and 56 preschoolers in a Sunshine kindergarten. As for the preschoolers, 28 preschoolers each were in two different classes of Western age five. They associated with 25 foreign preschoolers of the same age who were in a school in China Shenzhen city by e-mail during a 12-week period of time. They exchanged video clips of greetings and photos with the foreign friends by e-mail, and showed their works through video clips as well. The findings of the study were as follows: First, concerning the process of early childhood global citizenship education through the making global-friends project, this education was conducted in six stages. Second, regarding the effects of early childhood global citizenship education through the making global friends project, that education had four different effects on the preschoolers. And that education had several effects on the teachers as well: constructing a yearly integrated early childhood global education curriculum, actualizing more enriched global citizenship education, and improvement of educational objectives. The findings of the study suggest that the virtual intercultural exchange could contribute to the realization of a yearly integrated early childhood global education curriculum, a anti-bias educational program, a prosocial program and a multicultural language education program.
