대학 교양필수 수업에서 지각된 교수자 열정과 학생의 수업 노력의 관계: 학업적 자기효능감과 내재가치의 조절된 매개효과

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학의 교양필수 수업에서 지각된 교수자 열정과 학생의 수업 노력 간의 관계를 수업에 대한 내재가치가 매개하는지를 확인하고, 지각된 교수자 열정과 수업에 대한 내재가치 간의 관계가 학업적 자기효능감에 의해 조절되는 지를 확인하며, 최종적으로 지각된 교수자 열정이 내재가치를 통해 학생의 수업 노력에 미치는 간접효과에 대해 학업적 자기효능감에 의한 조절된 매개효과가 있는지를 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 수도권에 소재한 A 대학의 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 설문에 참여한 202명의 응답 자료를 분석하였다. SPSS PROCESS Macro를 이용하여 매개효과, 조절효과, 조절된 매개효과 를 분석한 결과, 지각된 교수자 열정이 학생의 수업 노력에 이르는 경로를 수업에 대한 내재가치가 유의하게 매개하였다. 또한 지각된 교수자 열정이 내재가치에 미치는 효과가 학업적 자기효능감에 의해 유의하게 조절되었다. 구체적으로, 학생의 학업적 자기효능감이 낮을 때보다 높을 때 지각된 교수자 열정이 수업에 대한 내재가치를 높이는 긍정적인 효과가 상대적으로 더 크게 나타났다. 마지막으로, 지각된 교수자 열정이 수업에 대한 내재가치를 통해 학생의 수업 노력에 미치는 간접효과가 학업적 자기효능감에 의해 유의하게 조절되었다. 교수자 열정과 수업 노력 간의 관계에서 보이는 내재가치의 매개효과 역시 높은 학업적 자기효능감을 가지는 경우 더 크게 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의, 대학교육에 대한 시사점, 후속연구 방향 등을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The present study aimed to investigate whether the relationship between perceived instructor enthusiasm and students’ course effort is mediated by intrinsic value about the course and whether the mediating effect of intrinsic value is moderated by college students’ academic self-efficacy in a mandatory general education course. A series of questionnaires were administered to college students at a university in the metropolitan area, and a total of 202 responses were analyzed. The results of the regression analyses using PROCESS Macro Model 7 showed that students’ intrinsic value about the course significantly mediated the path from perceived instructor enthusiasm to course effort. In addition, the relationship between perceived instructor enthusiasm and intrinsic value about the course was significantly moderated by students’ academic self-efficacy. Specifically, the higher the academic self-efficacy, the stronger the positive relationship between perceived instructor enthusiasm and students’ course effort. The results also confirmed a moderated mediation effect; the indirect effect of perceived instructor enthusiasm on students’ course effort was found to be significantly moderated by students’ academic self-efficacy. Specifically, the indirect effect was also stronger when students had higher academic self-efficacy. Based on these findings, implications for college education and future research directions were discussed.
