초등 학습부진아와 일반아의 학업동기와 학습전략 특성 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 학습부진학생의 학업동기와 학습전략의 특성이 일반학생들과 어떻게 다른지 비교·분석하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 학습부진아와 일반아의 특성 차이를 개념적으로 정의할 뿐 아니라 현장교사가 학습부진아를 이해하는데 도움이 되도록 조작적으로 정의하기 위해 학업동기, 시간관리, 학습전략에 관한 기존의 검사도구와 연구자가 개발한 수행활동지를 함께 사용하였다. 연구대상은 교육청수준 학력진단평가에서 교과부진으로 판별된 초등학교 6학년 학습부진학생 15명과 일반학생 18명이다. 연구결과, 학업동기와 전반적인 학습전략에서 일반아동이 유의하게 높았으나, 시간관리에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 수행활동지 분석결과에서는 학업동기(낙관성 기대, 강화물 선호, 귀인, 공부에 대한 인식)와 시간관리, 인지ㆍ상위인지 전략 사용(기억용량 수준, 조직화전략 사용유무, 심층적 인지전략 사용 유무, 청강전략 사용수준)에서 차이가 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 학습부진아와 일반아의 학업성취수준 차이가 교과지식의 양 차이만이 아니라 학업적 인지ㆍ정서ㆍ행동 수준의 차이에서도 기인할 수 있다는 것을 의미하며, 학습부진아의 학업성취수준을 일반아 수준으로 끌어올리려는 교육현장의 노력이 결실을 맺기 위해서는 학업동기조절과 학습전략 사용에 관한 교육이 병행되어야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the characteristics of academic motivation and learning strategies between elementary school underachievers and achievers. The participants were 33 elementary school students on the 6th grade from two different elementary school in Busan with being divided into one underachieved group with 15 students and another comparative achieved group with 18 students by exam results. Each groups of 33 students was asked to complete the questionnaire and perform the tasks about academic motivation and learning strategies. Data were analysed using SPSS and the statistic was conducted through t-test and χ² analysis. The results from data analysis were as follows. First, there was difference in academic motivation and learning strategies between underachieved and achieved groups, but there was no difference in time management between them. Second, in the students' performance tasks analysis by 3 researchers, two groups had different academic motivation, and used different time management skill and learning strategies. From the results, the implication of this study and future research in understanding and interpreting of underachieved students' academic characteristics were discussed.
