학습자 중심 수업을 위한 교수역량 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 학습자들이 인식하는 좋은 수업과 선호하는 수업방법을 교수자들이 가지고 있는 교수역량과 비교하여 학습자 중심 수업을 위해 강조되는 핵심 교수역량을 도출하는 것이었다. 학습자들이 인식하는 좋은 수업의 의미를 알아보고 선호하는 수업방법을 알아보기 위하여 A대학에 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고 우세한 교수역량을 알아보기 위하여 A대학교 100명의 교수자들을 대상으로 교수역량 진단을 실시하였다. 좋은 수업에 대한 설문은 80명의 학생들이 참여하였고 선호하는 수업진행 방식에 대한 설문 조사는 463명의 학생이 참여하였다. 분석결과 학습자들이 인식하고 있는 좋은 수업은 참여를 유도하고 의사소통 이 원만하며, 다양한 방법으로 학습자들의 이해를 촉진시키는 수업으로 나타났다. 아울러 선호하는 수업진행 방식으로는 강의식, 사례중심, 세미나식 순으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 좋은 수업을 위해 교수자들에게 강조되어야 하는 핵심 교수역량은 학습자와 수업에 대한 열정과 수업내용을 창의적이고 체계적으로 조직하는 역량으로 나타났다. 또한 지적 호기심을 자극하는 수업방법과 전략을 사용하여 학습자들과 소통할 수 있는 역량 역시 핵심 역량으로 나타났다. 그러나 연구에 참여한 대부분의 교수자들은 학습자 중심의 수업 설계를 할 수 있는 수업설계역량과 다양한 자료와 전략으로 학습내용의 이해를 촉진 시키는 학습촉진역량이 현저하게 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 공정하고 객관적인 평가자로서의 학습평가역량은 상대적으로 우세하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 학습자 중심의 좋은 수업을 위한 핵심교수역량이 제안되었다.

영문 초록

Today's universities increasingly emphasize the importance of effective instruction and teaching competencies of professors in order to compete with other universities. Over the years, the meanings of good instruction have been defined in many different ways, and studies about teaching competencies have been conducted by many researchers. For delivering good instruction, professors have to posses proper teaching competencies. However, there is not any study that complies the meaning of good instruction and teaching competencies in higher education. This study attempted to find the core teaching competencies constructing good instruction based on the definition of good instruction. In order to collect data about good instruction, open-ended question survey was conducted with 80 students and the teaching competency test instrument was administered with 100 professors in one of the Universities in Korea. Students' responses were analyzed by the theme and compared with the items in the teaching competency instrument. Based on the data analysis, the core teaching competencies were instructional design and facilitating competencies. Particularly, this study revealed that attitudes related skills such as communication with students, understanding the students, and creative, and student-centered instruction are really important for professors to motivate students' learning.
