중학생의 시험스트레스 영향 요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국교육종단연구 2013 자료를 활용하여 중학생의 시험스트레스에 영향을 미치는 개인 및 학교 수준의 요인을 다층모형을 통해 탐색하였다. 분석 대상은 중학교 2학년이며 총 384개교, 4,615명이었다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 시험스트레스에 정적 영향을 미치는 변인은 여학생, 부모의 학업적 지원, 수학 선행여부(고등학교 과정), 평균 공부시간, 협력에 관한 공동체 의식, 교사의 성취압력으로 나타났다. 둘째, 시험스트레스에 부적 영향을 미치는 변인은 가족 및 학업에 대한 자아개념, 부모의 정서적 지원, 운동시간, 교사의 개별화 수업방식으로 나타났다. 또한, 성취수준과 진학예정 고교유형에 따라 시험스트레스가 상이하였다. 마지막으로 학교 수준에서는 대도시 소재 학교에 재학 중인 학생일수록 시험스트레스가 낮았으며, 자유학기제 경험은 시험스트레스에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study explored the individual and school influencing factors affecting middle school students’ test stress through a multilevel model using data from the Korean Education Longitudinal Study 2013. The participants in the analysis were 2nd year middle school students and 4,615 students from 384 schools. The study found that, first, gender of students, parents’ academic support, math prerequisite learning, average study time per week, attitude for cooperative learning, and teacher’s achievement pressure had a positive effect on test stress. Second, self-concept of family and academics, parents’ emotional support, exercise time, and teachers’ individualized teaching methods had a negative effect on test stress. In addition, it was found that test stress differed according to students’ achievement levels and the type of high school they were expected to enter. Finally, at the school level, test stress was lower among students attending schools in large cities, and the experience of the free semester did not have a statistically significant effect on test stress.
