유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들의 그림책 읽기 모임 참여 경험: 가족과 함께 읽기를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니들이 그림책 읽기 모임을 통해 가족과 함께 그림책을 읽으면서 어떠한 경험을 하였으며, 그 의미가 무엇인지 밝히고자 하였다. 연구에 참여한 어머니들은 유아기 자녀를 둔 4명의 전업주부였다. 본 연구는 2016년 4월 1일부터 8월 19일까지 주 1회씩 총 19회 이루어졌으며 회당 2시간 30분 동안 진행되었다. 본 연구에서 사용된 그림책은 총 13권이었으며, 각 그림책을 활용하여 매회기 활동은 인사, 가정에서의 가족읽기 보고, 이번 주 그림책 읽기, 느낌 나누기와 토론활동 및 저널 쓰고 돌려 읽기, 마무리의 순서로 진행되었다. 모임 시간동안의 이야기 자료와 연구 참여자 저널 및 개인면담 자료 등이 자료로 수집 되었다. 연구결과 어머니의 가족과 함께 그림책 읽기 경험은 ‘변화를 위한 가족 간 대화 노력’, ‘자기성찰과 공동체를 통한 배움’, ‘함께 하는 가족 행복’으로 분류되었다. 본 연구는 부모로서 자녀를 잘 양육하고, 화목한 가족이 되려면 가족 간 어려움을 함께 의논하고, 부부가 공동으로 가정을 운영할 수 있게 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 부모교육이 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study used qualitative methods to investigate how the mothers of young children perceive the process and meaning of a happy family through reading picture books. The participants in this study were four mothers/full-time housewives who were interested in the education of young children. Participation involved reading picture books to their children; they read 13 picture books and discussed the process together over 19 sessions. This research was conducted from March 1, 2016 to August 19, 2016 once a week. Each session took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. The sessions were held at participants homes. The participants interviews, and both the participants and the researcher’s journals were collected as the main research data. In order to enhance the validity of analysis and interpretation of the data, a member check was conducted in which the interpretation of the data was shown to the mothers again(Lincoln & Cuba, 1985). As a result of this study, the picture book reading processes were categorized as “experiences of self-monitoring and dialogue with husband”, “experiences of learning through self-reflection and learning community”, and “experiences of happiness with family”. This study suggests that parent education is necessary and can help family members discuss hardships together; couples share the power to run a family and to raise their children well, thereby ensuring familial happiness.
