행정직이 바라본 혁신학교

국문 초록

이 연구는 행정직의 혁신학교에 대한 인식과 경험을 면담을 통해서 조사하였다. 조사 결과, 행정직은 초기에 혁신학교에 대한 인식이 매우 부정적이었으나, 직접 근무하면서 혁신학교가 아이들이 존중받는 자유롭고 행복한 학교이며, 교사들이 열정적으로 다양한 프로그램을 제공하고, 민주적으로 학교를 운영하고 있음을 알게 되었다. 하지만 이들은 특별예산 배분에 따른 업무부담, 업무 추진과정에서 교사와의 소통 문제, 교사 위주의 혁신학교 문화에서 소외감과 자존감 저하 등의 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 이러한 문제에 대응하기 위하여 행정직은 교사와의 적극적인 소통을 시도하고 자발적으로 학교 행사에 참여하였으며, 교육청에서 실시하는 혁신학교 워크숍과 세미나 등에 참석하여서 혁신학교에 대한 이해와 공감을 통해서 좀 더 적극적인 행정지원을 펼쳐나갔다. 교사와 행정직 간의 갈등 해소를 위해서 참여자들은 행정직의 전문성과 리더십, 교원과 행정직의 의사소통과 존중이 필요함을 제안하였다. 이는 학교공동체구성원의 자발성과 협력이 필요한 혁신학교의 지속가능성을 위하여 다양한 학교 구성원들의 관점이 포함되는 등 포용적일 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study illuminated the perception and experience of innovation schools in administrative staffs through interviews. Administrative staffs initially had had a very negative perception of innovative schools, but found that innovative schools are free and happy schools where children are respected, and teachers passionately provide various programs and run schools democratically. However, they have difficulties such as the burden of work due to the allocation of special budgets, communication problems with teachers, and alienation and low self-esteem in the teacher-oriented innovative school culture. To cope with this problem, they attempt active communication with teachers, voluntarily participate in school events, attend innovative school workshops and seminars conducted by the Office of Education. They are more likely to provide more active administrative support through understanding and empathy for innovative schools. Participants suggest that in order to resolve the conflict between teachers and administrative positions, it is necessary to enhance the expertise and leadership of administrative staffs, and to communicate and respect between teachers and administrative staffs.
