국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 국내 고등학교 학점제 도입에 따른 고등학교 진로교육의 현황을 분석하고 개선과제를 제시하는 데 있었다. 이를 위해 국내 고교학점제 연구·선도학교의 진로교육현황과 요구를 학생, 학부모 및 교사 대상 설문조사를 통해 분석하고, 학교 교사, 시·도교육청, 대학 및 연구기관의 전문가 대상 FGI를 통해 고교학점제 도입에 따른 고등학교 진로교육의 과제를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 많은 학생들이 진로·적성에 따른 교과목 선택에 어려움을 겪고 있었으며, 고교학점제 연구·선도학교에서 학점제 운영과 학생 진로·학업설계 지도 등의 업무가 증가한 가운데 교육과정 담당교사와 담임교사가 주된 역할을 하고 있었다. 소수교사에게 업무가 편중되거나 담임교사의 업무가 과중하다는 지적이 제기되었고, 진로·학업상담 조직의 적절한 구성원으로 진로교사를 많이 꼽았다. 고교학점제 관련 진로교육 활동은 주로 창의적 체험활동, 방과 후, 입학 전 오리엔테이션, 방학 등 비교과 시간에 주로 실시되었다. 고교학점제와 관련하여 진로교육의 보완 사항은 학생유형별 맞춤 상담 강화라는 의견이 가장 많았다. 이를 토대로 이 연구에서는 학생의 진로 맞춤형 교육과정 참여를 위한 진로개발역량 확보, 개인 맞춤형 진로교육 제공을 위한 조직 개편, 교과로서의 진로교육 운영을 통한 효과성 확보 등의 개선 과제를 도출하고, 후속 연구에 관한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the status of career education in schools following the introduction of the high school credit system and to present tasks to improve. To this end, the current status and demands of career education at pilot schools of the high school credit system were analyzed through surveys targeting students, parents, and teachers, and the focus group interview for school teachers, city and provincial education officers, professionals at universities and research institutes. As a result, the study found many students faced difficulty selecting subjects based on career and aptitude. Also, teachers in charge of curriculum and homeroom played a critical role amid increased tasks regarding the high school credit system at pilot schools. Also, the result pointed out, the work was concentrated on only a few teachers, or the homeroom teachers were overloaded. As appropriate members of career and academic counseling organizations, most respondents selected career guidance teachers. To operate career education activities for the high school credit system, schools utilized extracurricular classes such as creative field studies, after-school programs, orientation before admission, and vacation. The top priority to improve career education regarding the high school credit system was strengthening customized counseling according to the type of students. The tasks of school career education are as follows: strengthening career development capacity to participate in career-oriented curriculum, restructuring organization to provide personalized career education, and improving the career education efficiency by operating it as a school subject. In addition to these conclusions, the study suggested the possible issues for further research preparing for the full implementation of the high school credit system.
