아버지의 양육참여와 유아의 리더십 및 또래유능성과의 관계 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 아버지의 양육참여도가 유아의 리더십과 또래유능성에 미치는 영향력을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구를 위하여 서울, 경기에 소재한 7개의 사립유치원을 대상으로 해당기관에 재원중인 만 4세, 5세 유아의 아버지와 그 유아를 돌보고 있는 주 양육자437명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 21.0프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 아버지의 양육참여도, 직업, 수입, 근무시간, 자유로운 휴가사용 유무, 하루 평균 양육참여 시간에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 직업, 수입, 하루 평균 근무시간, 하루 평균 양육참여시간이 유아의 리더십 및 또래유능성에 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 아버지의 연령이나 학력, 자유로운 휴가사용 유무에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 아버지의 양육참여는 유아의 리더십 하위영역인 통솔력과 또래유능성의 하위영역인 친사회성 간의 높은 상관을 보였다. 넷째, 아버지 양육참여의 하위요인에서 자원제공자로서의 책임감은 리더십의 하위요인 중 통솔력과 인간관계 능력에, 아버지 양육참여의 하위요인에서 발달적지지, 자원 제공자로서의 책임감은 또래 유능성의 하위요인 중 친사회성, 주도성에 가장 높은 영향력을 나타냈다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze fathers parenting participation by their background variables, and to determine the effects of their participation on young child s leadership and peer competence. 437 fathers and main caregivers of four- and five-year-olds at seven private kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were analyzed. A scale composed of father s parenting participation, young child s leadership, and peer competence was used and the data were analyzed using T-test and one-way ANOVA. The results were as follows. First, fathers parenting participation varied significantly by their occupation, incomes, working hours, free time-off use status, and daily average duration of parenting participation. Second, as for differences in young child s leadership and peer competence by father s socio-demographic background, occupation, incomes, daily average working hours, and daily average duration of parenting participation affected young child s leadership and peer competence, neither of which was significantly affected by father s age, education, or free time-off use status. Third, father s parenting participation, young child s leadership, and peer competence were all significantly positively correlated. Fourth, as for the effects of father s parenting participation on young child s leadership and peer competence, the higher level of father s parenting participation, the higher level of young child s leadership and peer competence. This study has provided basic data that can help develop a plan for father s parenting participation.
