한국사 트라우마를 경험한 가족의 보웬가족치료 사례

국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘15세 아들의 게임 과다 문제와 등교 거부 때문에 아들과 갈등이 깊어져서 괴롭다.’는 45세 여자내담자를 상담한 사례이다. 내담자가 호소하고 있는 문제와 증상이 다세대 관점에서 다루어져야할 필요가 있다고 여겨져서 보웬가족치료를 적용하였으며, 부와는 단절, 모와 융합, 남편과 갈등, 딸과 융합, 아들과 갈등하고 있는 내담자의 역기능적인 관계 속에 들어있는 뿌리 깊은 불안과 미분화를 치료하였다. 가계도를 탐색하면서 내담자의 부가 한국전쟁 과정에서 내담자의 조부의 비극적인 죽음 현장을 목격하고 고통스러운 삶을 살았음을 알게 되자 내담자의 관점의 변화되고 인식이 확장되었다. 한국사 트라우마의 영향이 15세 아들의 문제와 연결 되어있음을 알게 되고, 분화되지 못한 자신의 관계 패턴과 역할을 수정하기 위해 노력하였다. 역기능적인 관계를 일으키는 불안을 낮추고 자기분화 수준을 향상시키기 위해 보웬가족치료 기법을 적용하여 부에 대한 분노 감정 해소와 부모와의 관계 재구성, 탈융합과 탈삼각화, 부모의 부부관계 기능 회복, 내담자의 부부갈등 해소, 내담자 부부의 부모 역할 정상화, 아들의 불안 완화와 게임 감소, 등교 등의 변화가 일어났다. 위와 같은 보웬가족치료의 결과를 중심으로 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study is a case study of a 45-year-old female client who presented a conflict with her 15-year-old son with game addiction and school refusal. The Bowenian theory was applied to this case in order to deal with the client’s presenting issues and symptoms in a multi-generational context. This case has addressed her deep-rooted anxiety and undifferentiation in dysfunctional relationships including disconnection from her father, fusion with her mother and daughter, and conflicts with her husband and son. Exploring her genogram, the client was able to realize her father’s trauma witnessing his father’s tragic death during the Korean War, thus changed her perception of her father. The client also became aware that the impact of the traumatic Korean history was related to the conflict with her son, and she has worked on changing her undifferentiated relationship patterns and roles. Using Bowen’s theory to reduce her anxiety that had led to the dysfunctional relationships and to improve the level of self-differentiation, this case has rendered changes including her released anger towards her father, reconstruction of relationships with her parents, defusion and de-triangulation, recovery of her and parents’ marriage relationships, normalization of roles of her and her husband’s parents, decrease in her son’s anxiety, game addiction, and school refusal.
