중학교 정보교과에서 언플러그드 교수·학습 방법이 학업 성취도 및 학습 만족도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2015년 개정 교과 과정에 따라 제공되는 중학교 정보 학급의 수업 만족도 및 학업 성취도에 대한 언플러그드 교수·학습 방법 및 기존 강의식 방법의 효과를 비교 분석하고자 하였다. 우리는 실험 그룹으로 중학교에서 30명, 비교 그룹으로 30명을 선택했다. 두 그룹 모두 45분 수업 8회, 주 2회 수업을 받았다. 언플러그드 교수학습 방법이 실험 그룹에 적용되는 동안 전통적인 강의 유형 방법이 비교 그룹에 적용되었다. 학생들은 8회차 수업 이전에 학업 성취도 시험을 치르며, 수업 이후에는 동일한 난이도의 또 다른 학업 성취도 시험과 수업 만족도 설문지를 작성했다. 시험 결과를 분석해 보면, 중학교 정보 수업의 수업 만족도 및 학업 성취 측면에서 언플러그드 교수·학습 방법이 기존 강의 방식보다 더 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 이런 효과는 언플러그드 교습·학습 방법이 중학생이 컴퓨터 과학의 원리와 개념을 배우고 문제 해결 능력을 향상시키는데 도움을 주었기 때문으로 본다. 또한 알고리즘 영역의 학업 성취도가 높아지면 수업 만족도가 대체적으로 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 우리는 중학교 정보교과에서 언플러그드 학습을 이용해 교육내용과 교육방법을 개발하는데 유용한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed at comparing and analyzing the effects of an unplugged teaching · learning method and a traditional lecture-type learning method on class satisfaction and academic achievements for middle school information classes that are offered according to the Revised Curriculum of 2015. For this purpose, we selected 30 students in a middle school as an experiment group and other 30 students as a comparison group. Both groups received eight 45-minute lessons and two lessons per week. While an unplugged learning method was applied to the experiment group, a traditional lecture-type method was applied to the comparison group. The students took an academic achievement test before the 8 lessons, and another academic achievement test of the same difficulty level as the previous one together with a class satisfaction questionnaire after those lessons. The analysis of the test results indicate that an unplugged teaching · learning method can be more effective than a traditional lecture-style method in terms of class satisfaction and academic achievements in middle school information classes. This effectiveness may result from the fact that the unplugged teaching · learning method helps the middle school students learn the principles and concepts of computer science and enhance their problem-solving abilities. It is also shown that the improvement of academic achievements in algorithm sessions will lead to higher class satisfaction. In this study, we want to provide the basic foundation for developing educational contents and methods based on unplugged learning in information courses in middle schools.
