유아 다문화학습 공간 구성 방향 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아 다문화학습 공간 구성의 방향성을 탐색하기 위한 것으로, 이를 위해 유아교사와 유아다문화교육 전문가 총 7명을 대상으로 반구조화된 면담을 실시하였다. 면담질문들은 유아다문화교육의 목적과 교수방법 및 내용, 유아다문화교육 실제와 학습공간, 유아다문화학습 공간 구성 방향으로 나누어졌다. 그 결과, 유아 다문화학습을 위한 공간은 첫째, 몸과 마음이 만나 진정한 이해를 할 수 있는 공간 둘째, 편견을 깨닫고 생각할 수 있는 공간 셋째, 정서적 공감과 관계를 촉진시킬 수 있는 공간 넷째, 교사의 다문화적 태도가 묻어나오는 공간이 되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 다문화학습 공간은 물리적 환경으로서의 공간을 넘어 사회적이고 정서적인 공간으로 유아들이 몸과 마음으로 다문화를 이해하고 긍정적인 관계를 생성해내는 공간이어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로 학습공간의 틈새에서 일어나는 역동적인 유아 다문화학습 과정의 탐색과 학습공간 디자인에 대한 재공학 및 유아 다문화학습 공간에 대한 비판적 사고기술이 지속적으로 요구됨을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the directions of learning space organization for early childhood multicultural education. For the aim, I had interview with 4 early childhood teachers and 3 experts in the early childhood multicultural education field. The interview questions were three categories: First was purpose, methods and contents of early childhood education. Second was practices and learning spaces for multicultural education and third was directions of multicultural learning spaces for young children. The findings were as follows : First, the learning space for early childhood multicultural education need to organize for young children to be able to understand multi-culture with body and mind sincerely. Second, the learning space need to be formed for re-thinking and anti-bias. Third, the learning space need to be designed for emotional empathy and relationships between each other. Last, the learning space need to designed based on ideas come from teacher’s multicultral attitude and belief. That is, it meant that the learning space for multicultural education need to be designed for making not only social, emotional space but also positive relationship each other beyond space as a physical environment. The results implicated that further research about dynamic multicultural learning process of young children within the learning spaces, re-engineering about learning spaces design and critical thinking skills about learning spaces for young children.
