프랑스 컬리지 3학년(Coll？ge 3？me) 시민교과목 연구: 주요 지향점과 핵심쟁점을 중심으로

국문 초록

프랑스 공교육과정에서 진행되는 시민교육은 프랑스 공화주의 교육이념이 고스란히 드러나는 산 물이다. 왜냐하면 프랑스 공화주의역사는 시민사회를 형성하는 과정이었고, 시민성은 이 시민사회 를 이루는 주춧돌이었으며, 공교육은 프랑스 공화주의이념이 적용되고 실현되는 유일한 교육기관이 기 때문이다. 컬리지 3학년 시민교과목 역시 이 공화주의 국가철학이 명징하게 나타난다. 컬리지 3 학년 시민교과목의 지향점은 “함께 살기를 배우는 시민 이니셔티브”로 요약된다. 이에 따라 시민교 과목의 내용은 첫째, 시민성 교육, 둘째, 사회적 일상교육, 셋째, 시민도덕교육으로 구체화된다. 한 편 시민교육과목 내용은 시대의 변화에 따라 프랑스 교육개혁과 교육논쟁의 핵심을 주도한다. 컬리 지 3학년 시민교과목의 핵심쟁점은 크게 네 가지로 모아진다. 첫째, 이론과 실천의 이원적으로 편 성된 시민교과목내용의 ‘복합적 구성’에 대한 문제, 둘째, 학교현실에 비추어 본 시민교과목 내용상 의 적용문제, 셋째, 교수법의 적합성에 대한 문제, 마지막으로 보편적 가치로서의 공화주의 교육철 학과 문화적 다양성 논쟁을 들 수 있다. 무엇보다도 이 문제들은 이제 막 가치와 신념이 명료화되 어 가고 시민으로서 개인적, 집단적 책임을 이해하고 적용할 수 있는 컬리지 3학년에서 더욱 두드 러지게 나타나고 있다.

영문 초록

The program of Civics in the French education shows the republican ideology based on the French Revolution. The basic idea of the republican ideology has formed 'citizenship' and 'civic society' which means freedom and equality as the most important individual rights. Spreading this new civic 'esprit' across the French nation was a big challenge for the public institution, and education appeared as the only way to reach as many people as possible. The main objective of civic education of La classe de 3?me is summarized by 'civic initiative to live together'. Thus the contents of civic education are as follows: firstly education for citizenship, secondly education for social life, and lastly education for civic moral. On the other hand, it is not a surprise that this 'esprit civique' has been constantly providing food for social and educational debates until today in France. The central issues of civic education of Classe de 3?me are focused on the complex structure between theory and application in the lesson, content's measure and didactic problem. These problems are especially concerns for students of Classe de 3?me who start to develop their value and belief to understand individual and collective responsibility and role, social participation in the civic society.
