영문 초록

Secondary bone grafting is widely accepted in the treatment of children with cleft lip and/or palate(CL/P). The purpose of this paper is to mention about bone grafting on the alveolar cleft in orthodontic management of CL/P patients, The treatment procedure for CL/P children in the Kyushu University Dental Hospital is divided into five stages;(1) First stage- after birth to cheiloplasty, (2) Second stage-after cheiloplasty to palatoplasty (3) third stage-in deciduous dentition. (4) fourth stage-in mixed dentition. and (5) fifth stage-in permanent dentition, Various types of co-works in our team were mentioned in each stage The aims and advantages of bone grafting are: (1) normalization or stimulation of maxillofacial growth. (2) stabilization of expanded maxillary buccal segments and the mibile premaxilla, (3) non-prosthetic treatment due to tooth movement into the grafted alveolus, (4) minimal permanent bridgework, (5) correction of facial asymmetry caused by insufficient bony support for the alar base, (6) closure of the oronasal fistula, and (7) improvement of the vestibular soft tissue relationship. Our experiences were described for primary bone gragtiong, the above mentioned advantages of secondary bone grafting, and the failure.
