Purpose - This paper aims to systematically analyze the profitability of Kunming Pharmaceutical Group through DuPont analysis, and discuss how Kunming Pharmaceutical Group maintains competitiveness and achieves sustainable development in the complex and changeable market. Design/Methodology/Approach - This paper uses DuPont analysis as the research framework, which decomposes the return on equity into three key financial indicators: net interest rate on sales, total asset turnover rate and equity multiplier, and comprehensively evaluates the profitability, operating efficiency and financial leverage effect of Kunming Pharmaceutical Group. Findings - Research found that the return on equity of Kunming Pharmaceutical Group decreased significantly in 2022, and the total asset turnover rate also showed a downward trend year by year, reflecting the decrease of asset utilization efficiency. At the same time, the equity multiplier of Kunming Pharmaceutical Group is maintained at a high level, indicating that the company relies on a high financial leverage for operation, which amplifies the shareholder returns to a certain extent, but also increases the financial risks. Research Implications - This paper puts forward a series of countermeasures and suggestions to improve the profitability of Kunming Pharmaceutical Group, including optimizing the profit structure and improving the stability of return on equity; improving the asset utilization efficiency through asset allocation optimization and process improvement; and reducing the risk of financial leverage by adjusting the capital structure.
