충남 초중고 교직원의 다문화에 관한 인식 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화에 관한 교직원의 인식을 통합적 관점에서 분석하여 문제점을 살펴보고 개선 방안을 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 양적연구로 충남교육청 소속 초중고와 교육행정기관의 교직원 대상으로 설문을 시행하였고 총 669명이 응답하였으며, 교육지원청 다문화 업무담당자를 대상으로 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 이중적인 다문화 태도 변화를 위한 다문화 인식개선 교육이 필요하다. 비록 다문화인에 대한 평등과 타문화 존중의 마음을 가지고 있지만, 비하, 편견, 고정관념, 그리고 배타적 성향이 있다고 답변하는 이중성을 보였다. 둘째, 우리나라 상황에 맞는 다문화교육 프로그램이 필요하며, 한국 적응 교육에 한정 지원, 다문화가정과 어울림 교육 강조, 체험 위주, 자문화 중심 운영, 학생들의 다문화교육 부족 등을 원인으로 들 수 있다. 셋째, 정부와 지자체 역할의 개선이 필요하다. 우리 사회가 다문화와 통합된 하나의 사회를 이루기 위해서 정부는 법제 마련과 재정확보, 그리고 기본계획을 수립하고 지자체는 시행계획을 마련하여 각 센터에서 운영할 수 있도록 지원이 필요하다. 넷째로 다문화 관련 대국민 홍보를 위한 정부 차원의 지원이 필요하다. 효과적이고 실질적인 다문화 이해 교육을 위해서는 교실에서뿐만 아니라 국민의 이해를 돕는 홍보를 위해 정부 차원의 여건 조성과 지원이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the teachers' perception of multiculturalism from an integrated point of view to examine the problems and to consider directions for improvement. To this end, a quantitative study was conducted on elementary, middle and high school and faculty members of educational administrative agencies belonging to the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education, and a total of 669 people responded, and a qualitative study was conducted on multicultural affairs managers of the Office of Education. As a result of the analysis, first, multicultural awareness improvement education is needed to change the double multicultural attitude. Although they have the mind of equality for multicultural people and respect for other cultures, they showed the duality of answering that they have demeaning, prejudice, stereotypes, and exclusionary tendencies. Second, there is a need for a multicultural education program tailored to the Korean situation, and the reasons are limited support for Korean adaptation education, emphasis on education for harmonious relationships with multicultural families, experience-oriented, self-culture-oriented operation, and lack of multicultural education for students. Third, the role of the government and local governments needs to prepare laws. Third, the role of the government and local governments needs to be improved. In order for our society to achieve a multicultural and integrated society, the government should make laws, secure finances, and establishes a basic plan, while the local government prepares an implementation plan and supports it so that each center can operate it. Fourth, government-level support is needed for public relations related to multiculturalism. For effective and practical multicultural understanding education, it is necessary to create conditions and support from the government not only in the classroom, but also for publicity that helps people understand multiculturalism and support it.
