탈북청소년의 사회적 지지가 적응유연성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 탈북 청소년의 사회적응에서 사회적 적응유연성, 사회적 지지, 자아존중감 정도에 대해 파악하고, 남한사회 적응유연성에 미치는 영향을 살피는 데 있다. 본 연구의 주된 자료는 2008년 8월 25일부터 9월 25일까지 표준화 된 설문지를 사용하여 면접조사를 실시하여 수집하였다. 응답자들은 서울․경기지역에 거주하는 10세부터 24세 미만의 탈북 청소년들이다. 총 205부의 설문지를 회수하여 이중 응답이 성실한 180부를 분석에 사용하였다. 조사 결과 조사대상이 된 탈북청소년은 평균연령이 18.43으로 비교적 높은 편이였다. 주거형태는 임대아파트가 대부분이며, 학교에 취학하여 있는 경우가 대부분이며 미래를 준비하는 전형적인 청소년의 모습을 보이고 있었다. 성적은 중하로 편중되어 있고, 종교는 대부분이 개신교였으며 종교가 없는 경우도 많았다. 천주교나 불교는 소수였다. 상관관계를 본 결과, 여러 요소들이 서로 상관관계를 가진 것이 통계적으로 의미 있게 드러났다. 개인적요소인 만 나이는 교사의 지지와 상관관계가 있었고, 남한거주기간은 남한친구의 지지와 상관관계에 있었고, 자존감계는 가족의지지, 남한친구의 지지, 교사의 지지, 적응유연성과 상관관계에 있었다. 사회적 지지의 네 부분(가족의 지지, 탈북친구의 지지, 남한친구의 지지, 교사의 지지)은 모두 적응유연성과 상관관계에 있었다. 특이한 것은 모두 정적 상관관계였는데 유독 만 나이와 교사의 지지는 부적 상관관계였다. 적응유연성을 종속변수로 하여 선형회귀분석을 한 결과, 탈북청소년의 적응유연성에 영향을 미치는 변인들은 자아존중감, 남한친구의 지지, 가족의 지지로 나타났다. 따라서 탈북청소년이 남한사회에 잘 적응하게 하려면 가족의 지지를 높이고, 남한친구의 지지를 높이고, 자아존중감을 높여 주어야 한다. 사회적 지지 중 탈북친구의 지지가 적응에 영향을 줄 것으로 생각되는데 결과는 그렇지 않았다. 이에 대해서는 후속연구가 필요하다고 여겨진다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of adjustment resilience, social support and self-esteem of adolescents moved from North Korea. To achieve the goal, the survey was conducted on 180 North Korean adolescents residing in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do. Total of 205 questionaries collected were used for the final analysis. The average age of the respondents was 18.43 and most of them lived in rented apartment houses. The most respondents attended schools. They were typical young generation who prepared their future. Their school records were average or less than average. Most of them were Christians, but some students were atheists. A few of them were Catholics or buddhists. Correlation analysis showed various factors were interrelated. The age as individual elements was related to the support from teachers. The residence period in South Korea was related to the support from South Korean friends. Self-respect was related to the support from family, South Korean friends, teachers and resilience. The four aspects of social support which are support from family, friends from North Korea, South Korean friends and teachers were all related to resilience. All correlations were positive except one between the age and the support from teachers. Linear regression analysis using resilience as a dependent variable showed that self-esteem, support from South Korean friends and family are factors which affect on resilience. Therefore, it is important to provide positive support from family and South Korean friends and to keep their self-respect in order to help the adolescents from North Korea to adjust in South Korean Society. It was expected that support from friends who came from North Korea was more influential than other support, but the results showed that this factor was less important than expected. It is needed that research should be followed up to explore this matter more precisely.
