영문 초록

Up to now, the study of Euwooyadam (於于野談) has been done partially or has ceased on the level of an introduction. Lee Kyung-Woo undertook its study on a full scale, but the considerations of its content itself are somewhat incomplete. So this study considers the author-attitudes represented in Euwooyadam (於于野談) and establishes the value of the work through understanding its background and analyzing its contents. As a result of studying it, the derived conclusions are as follows. 1. After undergoing the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and the early party conflicts, Yoo Mong-In wrote Euwooyadam(於于野談) which was based upon Confucianism, Buddhism, and Zen. He had been influenced by Miscellaneous notes(雜錄), Biographies(傳), novels in chinese character(漢文小說), military tales(軍談小說), etc. 2. The analysis of its content shows that, classified by the themes, the morale and the miracle are larger in number among the morale, the miracle and the amusement, classified by the heroes, the men of letters among the ruling classes, and classified by genres, the legends among the legends, folk tales, funny tales, anecdotes and and short stories. 3. The author-attitudes are represented in the way that he took much account of humanistic and social moralities, inspired the retribution in Buddhism, and criticized the contradictory social conditions and customs. Besides, the hypocrisy, ignorance, incapacity, and eccentricity of the aristocratic classes were criticized and the modern change of the woman consciousness is shown in his work. 4. The value of the work is in that it contributed to the development of the novels as the beginning of the unofficial historical tales(野談). Being the mirror of the social conditions at that time, it also represents strongly the will to enlighten the society. So Euwooyadam(於于野談) which was considered above plays an important part in the history of Korean litterature.
