대학생의 학업동기신념 프로파일에 따른 수업참여, 문제행동 및 학업부정행위의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국내 대학생들의 학업동기신념 프로파일 유형을 탐색하고 프로파일 집단에따라 수업 참여도, 학업관련 문제 행동, 학업 부정행위 등에 어떠한 차이가 나타나는지를 확인하는것이다. 이를 위해 한국교육종단연구 8차년도 조사 참가자 중 국내 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 2,447명을 분석 대상으로 하였다. 잠재프로파일분석(LPA) 결과, 5개의 프로파일 모형을 최종 모형으로 선택하였으며, ‘높은 효능감과 높은 숙달목표형’, ‘높은 성취목표형’, ‘중간동기형’, ‘낮은 효능감과 낮은 수행목표형’, ‘매우 낮은 수행목표형’으로 각 프로파일을 명명하였다. 학업동기신념 프로파일에 따라 대학생의 수업참여도, 학업관련 문제 행동, 학업 부정행위에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. ‘높은 효능감과 높은 숙달목표형’은 모든 학업관련 행동에서 가장 적응적인 결과를 보였으며, 성취목표 수준이 낮은 집단들은 수업참여도가 낮고, 학업관련 문제 행동과 학업부정행위를 더 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 숙달목표와 수행목표가 모두 높은 ‘높은 성취목표형’은 숙달목표만 높고 수행목표가 낮은 ‘높은 효능감과 높은 숙달목표형’에 비해 수업 중 문제행동과 학업부정행위 정도가 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구 결과가 대학교육에 주는 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore college students’ academic motivation profiles in Korea and to investigate how their profiles relate to their class engagement, academic misbehavior, and academic dishonesty. A total of 2,477 college students from Korean Education Longitudinal Study 2012 data provided the sample for this study. Using Latent Profile Analysis, a five-profile model of‘high efficacy and high mastery goals’, ‘high achievement goals’, ‘moderate motivation’, ‘low efficacy and low performance goals’, and ‘very low performance goals’ was chosen as the final model. There were significant differences in the students’ class engagement, academic misbehavior, and academic dishonesty depending on their motivation profiles. The ‘high efficacy and high mastery goals profile showed the most adaptive results whereas the profiles with low achievement goals showed lower engagement, and higher levels of academic misbehavior and academic dishonesty. In addition, the students with high mastery and high performance goals (i.e., ‘high achievement goals’) demonstrated significantly higher levels of misbehavior during class and academic dishonesty than those with high mastery and low performance goals (i.e., ‘high efficacy and high mastery goals’). Implications of the research findings for college education are discussed.
