국문 초록

탐방로와 같은 공원시설에 관한 정보는 탐방객이 자신에게 맞는 탐방계획을 세우는데 유용하고 또한, 공원관리 목표를 달성하기 위한 공원관리자가 공원자산과 직접적인 탐방이용 패턴을 관찰하는데 중요하다. 본 연구는 지리산국립공원 법정탐방로를 대상으로 거리, 시간, 에너지소비 비용의 세 가지 평가항목을 중심으로 탐방난이도를 평가하였다. 평가항목을 공간적으로 정량화하기 위해 필요한 노선거리, 고도차이 그리고 경사는 GIS 공간분석기법을 적용하여 산출하였다. 최종 종합분석을 위해 주성분분석과 군집분석기법을 평가항목에 적용하여 탐방로 구간별 난이도 특성을 분석하였다. 연구결과 지리산국립공원 탐방로의 28.4%에 해당하는 구간이 지형여건 및 체력의 난이도가 높게 나타나고 31.9%의 구간은 지형여건의 난이도는 높고 체력에 대한 난이도는 낮게 나타났다. 지형여건 난이도는 높고 체력 난이도는 낮은 구간은 19.2%에 해당하고 지형 및 체력 난이도 모두 낮은 구간은 20.5%에 해당하는 것으로 나타났다. 전체적으로 지리산국립공원 탐방난이도 특성은 거리와 고도로 설명할 수 있는 지형적 여건은 매우 유사하고 에너지소비비용으로 설명될 수 있는 체력여건에 상대적으로 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 비록 기상조건, 탐방로 주변시설, 탐방로 폭 및 노면상태, 그리고 개인적 변수 등 탐방로 난이도를 결정하는 모든 요소를 고려하지 못하고, 거리, 시간, 그리고 에너지소비용에 대한 객관적이고 정량적인 자료 부족으로 실증적인 검증의 한계는 있지만 탐방객에는 탐방계획 수립에 중요한 거리, 시간, 그리고 에너지 비용 같은 보다 구체적인 정보를 제공함으로써 탐방객 자신의 의도에 맞게 고품질의 탐방경험을 할 수 있을 것이고 관리자에게는 탐방 관리목표를 달성하기 위한 기초자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.

영문 초록

Information regarding the park facilities such as a trail is useful for visitors in planning the visit appropriate to themselves and is important for park managers attempting to reach the goal of park management in observing the park assets and the direct patterns of visit. This study evaluated trail difficulty focusing on three evaluation items, such as distance, time and energy consumption cost for the designated trails of Jirisan National Park. Trail distance, elevation difference and slope necessary for spatially quantifying the evaluation items were calculated by using a GIS spatial analysis model. The characteristics of trail difficulty by section were analyzed by applying the principal component analysis and clustering analysis to the evaluation items for the final general analysis. After the analysis, the study found that the sections consisting of 28.4% of the trails of Jirisan National Park had a high level of difficulty in topographical conditions and physical fitness and 31.9% of them had a high level of difficulty in topographical conditions and a low level of difficulty in physical fitness. It also showed that 19.2% belonged to the sections with a high level of difficulty in topographical conditions and a low level of difficulty in physical fitness, while 20.5% belonged to the sections both of which had a low level of difficulty in topographical conditions and physical fitness. Overall, the characteristics of trail difficulty in Jirisan National Park demonstrated that the topographical conditions of distance and elevation were very similar, but these were relatively influenced by physical fitness conditions that could be explained by energy consumption cost. This study had some limitations on empirical verification due to a lack of objective and quantitative data for distance, time and energy consumption cost, while not fully considering every factor determining trail difficulty, such as weather conditions, facilities surrounding the trails, width and surface conditions of trails and individual variables. However, it could provide visitors with concrete information such as distance, time and energy cost significant to the establishment of their visiting plan. Hence, it is expected that it will enable visitors to experience a high-quality visit appropriate to their intention and may be used by managers as basic data for achieving the goal of visiting management.
