국문 초록

이 논문은 한국에 아직 잘 알려져 있지 않은 자기민속지학의 쟁점과 현황을 소개하고 연구자들의 관심을 유발하기 위해 작성된 것이다. 자기민속지학은 포스트모더니즘의 영향 아래 사회과학에 몰아닥친 재현의 위기 속에서 연구자의 성찰과 글쓰기의 문제를 전면에 내세우면서 등장했다. 자기민속지학은 연구자의 개인적 경험을 문학적 양식을 비롯한 여러 실험적 방식으로 생생하게 기술함으로써 독자와 교감하고 현상에 대한 사회적 이해를 얻으며 나아가 개인적, 사회적 상황을 변화시키고자 하는 연구이다. 자기민속지학의 적극적 활용은 한국의 질적 연구를 더 풍요롭게 만들고 외연을 확장시키는 기회가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to introduce autoethnography that has recently become anon-negligible form of qualitative research and to discuss its present condition inKorea. Korean qualitative researchers have worked peacefully, not paying muchattention to the ‘crisis of representation’ in the social sciences. The critical perspectives on researcher’s authority, reflexivity, relationship between author and reader, writingand text construction have been relatively unknown to them. Autoethnography is apromising qualitative method that describes personal experience in experimental writing forms to allow readers to empathize author’s feelings and understand broader social phenomena. With the autoethnographic research practice, korean qualitative research would be richer and expanded.
