영문 초록
A single cross hybrid cultivar, Gangdaok, is an yellowish white flint maize hybrid (Zea mays L.) developed by the maize breeding team at the National Institute of Crop Science (NICS), RDA in 2005. This hybrid, which has high yields of dry matter, total digestible nutrient (TDN) and grain, was derived from crossing two inbred lines, KS140 and KS141. KS140 is the seed parent and KS141 is the pollen parent of Gangdaok. Silking date of Gangdaok is about one day later than that of check hybrid, Kwanganok. Stay-green of Gangdaok does not differ greatly with that of Kwanganok. It has resistance to lodging. It has a longer ear than a check hybrid, Kwanganok. It has moderately resistance to Bipolaris maydis (southern corn leaf blight), Exserohilum turcicum (northern corn leaf blight), and corn borer but sensitivity to black streaked dwarf virus (BSDV). Gangdaok was evaluated for the yields of dry matter, TDN and grain at four locations from 2003 to 2005. The yields of Gangdaok in dry matter, TDN, and grain were 18.76 ton/ha, 13.24 ton/ha and 8.56 ton/ha, respectively, which were increased 11% and 11% compared with those of check hybrid, Kwanganok in dry matter and TDN, and was increased 7% compared with that of check hybrid, Suwon19 in grain yield. Seed production of Gangdaok has gone well due to a good match during crossing between the seed parent, KS140 and the pollen parent, KS141 in Yeongwol region.
