허백당 성현의 사문의식

국문 초록

이 글은 허백당 성현의 사문(斯文) 의식에 대해 살펴본 논문이다. 우리는 일반적으로 도학파 사림의 경학인식을 거쳐 이황과 이이로 이어지는 성리학적 발전에 있어 성현 등 사장파로 분류되는 문인관료의 경학은 깊이 고려하지 않는 경향이 있다. 하지만 하나의 사상과 학문이 뿌리내리는 데는 당시의 수많은 사상과 학문이 영향을 미쳐 그 흐름을 형성한다. 따라서 15세기 斯文의 수호를 지향했던 문인관료들도 조선성리학의 정립에 영향을 미쳤음은 당연한 일일 것이다. 이 논문은 이러한 추론 위에 15세기 문인관료 중 한 사람인 성현을 중심으로 사문의식의 특징을 살펴보았다. 또 이를 통해 경학전통의 어떤 특징을 형성하였으며, 16세기 퇴계와 율곡의 성리학 정립에 영향을 주는 하나의 지류를 형성했음을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다.

영문 초록

Seong Hyeon is a bureaucrat who lived in the middle of the fifteenth century. He succeeded Kim Soo-eon and Seo Geo-jeong from the early Joseon Dynasty to inherit the tradition of succession. When Kim Jong-jik, the leader of the Salim faction of the ruling camp, developed the theory of Confucianism, the sense of ethics among bureaucrats is clearly marked. In this thesis, I wanted to focus on the philosophy of the 15th century bureaucracy by focusing on the character of Sung Hyeon. Looking ahead, the views of the sages reflected that the scholars of Salim`s faction developed a sense of respect for the development of the inquiry, unlike the trend toward developing the universe and developing the theory of the universe. In the inquiry, however, he acknowledged the views of Confucianism and Buddhism, a view of the success of the inquiry, and determined that the perception of Chuang-tzu`s “Daejeon( 大全 )” was deeply affected. And the understanding of human nature was very similar to that of Chuang-tzu. During the latter half of the fifteenth century, the ethics of Salim focused on defining in terms of human nature theory and self-cultivation theory. On the other hand, Seong Hyeon tried to incorporate the three liberal doctrines into an inclusive perspective. It sometimes interpreted Buddhism from the Daoist viewpoint, interpreting Confucian interpretations in the Buddhist position, and interpreting Buddhism from the standpoint of Confucianism. Such a trait has led to free ideological constraints stemming from the tendency of the Joseon Dynasty to free itself from dogmatic ideological bonds, and thus leads to ideological inclusion of the thought of Laotzu and Buddhism. In other words, it connects Chuang-tzu’s idea of the “Uniformity of All Things” to the Buddhist belief. It is also meaningful to realistically embrace Chuang-tzu’ ideas and Buddhism that deviates from practical Confucianism.
