국문 초록

최근 투명망토를 현실화할 수 있는 광학 기술과 이론들이 등장함에 따라 빛의 굴절 이론과 관련한 광학 분야의 응용과 융합이 새롭게 주목 받기 시작하였다. 이에 빛의 굴절 이론에 관심을 가지고 굴절률에 따른 빛의 궤적과 신기루 현상에 관한 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 공기의 밀도는 온도에 가장 크게 영향을 받으며 빛의 굴절률과 공기의 온도는 서로 반비례하고, 빛은 공기의 온도가 낮은 쪽에서 높은 쪽으로 휘어진다는 것을 실험으로 증명하였다. 그 실험 결과로 공기층의 온도 변화에 따른 빛의 궤적의 이론값과 실제 측정값을 비교 분석하였으며 급격한 공기층의 온도 변화로 발생하는 신기루 현상을 실험실에서 직접 구현하였다.

영문 초록

As the optical technology and theory that enable the realization of invisibility cloak emerge recently, the application and fusion of optical areas related to the theory of light refraction have been receiving renewed attentions. These developments have motivated our study of the theory of light refraction related to the curved trajectory of light and mirage phenomenon due to the variation of refractive index of air. In this study, it was proved by experiments that the air density was most affected by the air temperature, that the refractive index was inversely proportional to air temperature and lastly that the light trajectory curved from low to high temperature region. Measured parameters for the trajectory of light have been analyzed and compared with the theoretical predictions due to the variation of air temperature. In addition, the mirage in the laboratory has been demonstrated under controlled conditions with the drastic variation of air temperature.
