영재교육 교재 적합도 및 교육내용 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학부설 과학영재교육원과 교육청 산하 영재교육기관(영재교육원 및 영재학급 등)에서 자체 개발하여 사용하고 있는 영재교육 교재를 분석함으로써 영재교재로서 적합한지, 그리고 우수교재와 비우수교재로 선정된 교재의 특징은 무엇인지를 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서 분석한 영재교육 교재는 총 10개 기관 779개의 주제 였으며, 과목은 수학, 물리, 화학, 생물, 지구과학 등 5개 과목이었다. 영재교육교재로서의 적합도를 살펴보기 위하여 평가 틀을 제작하여 전체 779개의 주제에 대한 질적 평가를 실시하였으며, 각 기관별 영재교재 구성과 내용을 분석하기 위하여 정문호(2008)가 개발한 영재프로그램 지면 평가틀을 본 연구에 맞게 수정·보완하여 사용하 였다. 영재교재의 분석 및 적합도 측정의 신뢰도를 높이기 위하여 우수교재와 비우수교재의 선정기준 및 적합도 분석에 대하여 총 3번의 워크숍을 진행하였으며, 영재를 지도하고 있는 대학교수, 영재교육(석, 박사)을 전공하고 있는 현직 중등교사(수학/과학담당), 그리고 영재교육기관의 영재교육 전공 연구원 등 총 12명이 분석에 참여하 였다. 교재 분석 및 적합도 평가에서의 채점자간 신뢰도는 .88 .92 로 보고되었다. 기관별 교재가 영재교재로서 적합한지를 분석한 결과 전체 779개의 주제 중 53.9%는 적절하다고 평가되었고, 28.1%는 부적절한 것으로 평가 되었다. 779개의 주제 중 매우 적절하다고 평가된 주제는 18%이었다. 영재교재의 적합도는 지역간, 영재교육기 관별, 과목별 차이가 나타났으며 전체적으로 영재교재로서 적합도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 우수교재와 비우수교재의 특성을 분석한 결과,‘ 과학의 사회적 책임 및 과학자의 임무와 리더십’영역을 제외하고는 모두 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study examined the appropriateness of teaching materials for the gifted education programs which are used at the gifted education centers affiliated with the universities and educational districts offices. In addition, this study also explored the features of excellent and non-excellent teaching materials for gifted students. The gifted education teaching materials analyzed in the present study included 779 themes at 10 institutes in two metropolitan areas. Thsubjects include 5 academic domains such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science. Jung(2008)’s frame was revised and used for the analysis. Twelve experts in the gifted education area participated in the analysis and inter-rater reliability was .88-.92. Among the 779 themes analyzed in study, 53.9% was evaluated as the proper ones and 28.1% was considered unsuitable as the teaching materials for the gifted. Only 18% out of the 779 themes was evaluated to be very desirable as the teaching materials for the gifted. The appropriateness of gifted teaching materials significantly differed by region, gifted education institute, and subject areas. Overall, the appropriateness of the teaching material for the gifted was indicated to be low. Finally, the analysis of the features of proper and non-proper teaching material for the gifted showed that there were significant differences in all evaluation areas except one which was the‘ social responsibility in science and scientists’ task and leadership.’ Implications of the study was discussed in depth
