요리활동이 유아의 측정능력과 대수적 사고능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 요리활동이 유아의 측정능력과 대수적 사고능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 통제집단으로 유치원의 만 5세 유아 21명, 실험집단으로 만 5세 유아 21명 총 42명을 선정하였다. 유아의 측정능력는 홍혜경, 이정욱, 정정희(2006)가 개발한 유아수학능력 검사도구 중 넓이(면적), 부피, 시간 부분을 대수적 사고능력은 황해익, 최혜진(2007)이 개발한 유아그림수학능력 검사 중 대수검사를 검사 도구로 사용하였다. 자료는 SPSS for Windows 18.0을 이용하여 t-검증으로 비교·분석하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 첫째, 요리활동이 유아의 측정능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 요리활동을 경험한 실험집단의 유아들이 통제집단의 유아들에 비해 평균적으로 더 높게 향상은 되었지만 통계상으로 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 요리활동이 유아의 대수적 사고능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 요리활동을 경험한 실험집단의 유아들이 통제집단의 유아들에 비해 평균적으로 더 높게 향상되었고, 대수적 사고능력의 하위영역인 분류, 관계추론, 패턴에서도 각각 유의미한 차이가 나타났다.

영문 초록

This research seeks to find out how actual application of cooking activities affect the measuring ability and algebraic thinking ability in young children. 21 young children participated in the study as a control group and 21 young children as an experimental group. The data collected were analyzed by using the measurement of area, volume and time(A Test of mathematics ability for young children in 2006 developed by Hyekyung Hong, Jungwook Lee and Chunghee Chung) and Algebraic thinking test(Pictorial mathematics ability test for young children in 2007 developed by Haeik Hwang and Hyejin Choi). SPSS program for Windows 18.0 was used to process an average and the standard deviation, and analyze a difference between two groups by t-test. The results of this research are as follows. First, the cooking activities did not have positive effects on the measuring ability. Young children experienced the cooking activities were improved more the control group, but in the statistics, there was not big differences. Secondly, the cooking activities had positive effects on the algebraic thinking ability of young children. Young children experienced the cooking activities were not different as the control group, but the experimental group was a little bit more about the classification thinking ability, the relationship inference ability and the pattern thinking ability in the statistics.
