영문 초록

The oceanogeologic investigation was carried out to the surface sediments on continental shelf off the Geoje-do as a part of study to understanding on the distribution area and lateral change pattern of relict sediments distributed in the continental shelf off the South Sea, Korea. The surface sediments selected from 12 stations in depth ranging up to 55-105m and were analyzed for the sediment characters. Sediments composed of gravelly muddy sand, gravelly sandy mud and mud. The relict sediment which composed of coarse materials in study areas, distributed in depth ranging up to about 50- 100m. The distribution boundary of relict sediments only known to the outer shelf of 80m in depth, seams to various from districts.
