「찬미받으소서」는 모두 6장으로 이루어진 회칙이다. “공동의 집을 돌보는 것에 관하여”라는 부제를 달고 있는 이 회칙은 인류가 처한 생태적 위기에 대한 가톨릭 교회의 관심과 입장을 설정하고, 그에 대한 그리스도교적 해법을 모색한다. 회칙은 그 전반부에서 생태문제에 대한 기존의 생태론 또는 생태신학적 연구와 대안을 함축하면서 신학적-신앙적 관점에서 그 문제의 심층을 해석하고자 하는데, 이 논문은 그중에서 제2장 “피조물에 대한 복음”을 성서신학적 관점에서 알아듣고자 한다. “피조물에 대한 복음”은 생태 문제에 대한 성서적 통찰이다. 회칙은 먼저 구약성경의 창조론을 재해석한다. 구약의 창조 이야기에서 기존의 신학이 하느님-인간-세상의 위계적 구도를 읽었다면, 회칙은 하느님, 인간 그리고 세상 사이의 보편적 친교를 창조질서로 이해한다. 나아가 회칙은 신약성경의 구원론을 재해석한다. 예수 그리스도의 구원사건은 인간뿐 아니라 모든 피조물의 구원을 향하고 있으며, 복음은 모든 피조물에게 선포되었다. 종말론적 관점에서 본다면 그리스도를 통하여 모든 피조물의 화해가 일어나고, 모든 피조물 안에서 하느님 현존의 충만이 이루어질 것이다. 이와 같은 회칙의 새로운 해석을 통해 생태계에 대한 교회의 관심이 교회의 본질과 존재 이유를 관통하고 있음이 드러난다. 그리고 이렇게 회칙의 2장을 통해 꼴을 갖춘 생태신학은 교회의 신앙과 실천 그리고 신학 전반에 걸친 생태적 반성과 회심을 요청한다.

영문 초록

Laudato Si’ is a encyclical letter of Pope Francis, which is comprised of six chapters. Subtitled as “On Care for Our Common Home”, the document establishes the ecclesiastical perspective regarding the ecological crisis of humankind, and seeks Christian solutions for that. The document’s early chapters deal with existing ecological or ecotheological researches, approaching to the deep dimension of the ecological problematics on the theological basis. This paper’s interest is the chapter 2 “The gospel of creation” among them. “The gospel of creation” provides biblical insights into ecological problematics, reinterpreting Old and New Testament. While the existing understanding of creation stories in Old Testament is the hierarchical relationship of God-Humankind-World, Laudato Si’ reads the universal communion among God, Humankind and ecosystem between the lines of biblical texts. Reinterpreting New Testament, the document affirms that the salvation of Jesus Christ is toward not only humankind but every creation. And in the same sense the Good News is proclaimed to every creation. From the eschatological perspective, all creatures will reconcile through Christ, and the fullness of God’s presence will take place in all creation. Such innovative interpretations and reinterpretations of Laudato Si’ teaches the raison d ́être of the Catholic Church in an era of ecological crisis. And the ecotheology established on Laudato Si’ calls first of all for “ecological conversion” of the church’s belief, theology and praxis.
