영문 초록

The author had studied clinically and pathologically on the 155 cases of oral epidermoid carcinoma patients who visited to the Department of Oral Surgery, Infirmary, School of Dentistry, S.N.U. for 15 years from 1960 to 1976. The statistical analyses of epidermoid carcinomas were based on the biopsies and pathological diagnostic charts. And observed incidences of epidermoid carcinomas by age, location, chief complaint, occupation, and province. The results were as follows. 1) 108 cases(69.7%) of 155 cases were in males and 47 cases(30.3%) in females. The ratio of incidence between men and women was 2.3:1. 2) Most of the cases (83.9%) were occurred between the age of 40 to 70 with the vast majority (32.9%) in seventh decade. 3) The prevalences of locational distribution were alveolar mucosa (82.9%), buccal mucosa (6.8%), tongue (5.7%), lips (3.4%) and oral floor (1.1%) in oders. 4) Most common symptoms of epidermoid carcinoma patients were pain(55.7%) and followed by swelling, ulcer, and tooth mobility. 5) On the occupational distributions, non-employment was occupied over one half of epidermoid carcinomas. 6) Predominant province was Seoul.
