영문 초록

The purposes of this experimental study are to investigate the effect of Gelfoam (absorbale gelatin sponge) on the healing of rabbit mandibular alveolar sockets, and to evaluate this material can act favorably to the new bone formation. Ten adult rabbits were randomly separated into 5 groups of 2 animals each. Both mandibular molar teeth of rabbits were extracted with elevator and forceps as aseptic and atraumatic as possible. One socket was used as control and the other was treated with Gelfoam. These rabbits were sacrificed on 3 days, 1 wk, 2 wks, 3 wks, and 4 wks interval respectively after experiment, and Microscopic comparing measurement in the healing trend of the sockets between two differential groups were done as routinely staining method. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Socket healing of experimental groups were retarded at early stage. 2. Socket healing of experimental groups were acceleated slightly at late stage. 3. In both the experimental groups and the control groups, the ertraction socket organizing process was influenced by the remained periodontal membranes.
