국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 하이데거의 존재론에 나타난 '본래성'의 의미를 고찰하고, '본래성' 회복 과정에서 나타난 교육적 함의를 탐구하는 데 있다. 하이데거가 존재론에서 밝히고자 한 중요한 과제들 중의 하나는 현존재의 본래성 회복이며 이는 양심과 결단이 요청된다. 현존재는 세계-내-존재로서, 또한 시간의 개념을 가진 존재로서 죽음을 인식하고 이것을 계기로 새로운 결단을 내리며 의지를 가지고 실천하려고 애쓰는 존재이다. 죽음은 형식적인 교육을 통해 인식될 수 있는 대상이 아니다. 그것은 실존주의자들이 강조한 바 있는 비형식적 혹은 단속적인 교육을 통해 자각되는 대상이다. 삶에서 만나는 위기, 각성, 충고, 만남, 죽음 등을 통해서 인간은 용기 있는 결단을 내리고 강한 의지로 실천한다. 죽음이라는 사건을 통해 양심의 소리를 듣고 결단하여 실천하는, 그리하여 스스로 인생의 주체가 되는 본래성 회복의 과정은 자기교육이라는 교육학적 함의를 담고 있다. 본래성 회복은 지ㆍ정ㆍ의 중 의지적 부분을 가장 잘 드러낼 수 있는 양심과 결단을 필요로 한다고 볼 수 있다. 죽음이 본래성 회복의 중요한 계기인 동시에 삶 전환의 중요 사건이라면 자기교육의 하나인 죽음교육은 중요한 주제로서 장차 무게 있게 다루어져야 할 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to investigate the meanings of authenticity in the ontology of Heidegger and to suggest its educational implications. Heidegger understood the usual life of Dasein is inauthentic. Human beings should recover the authenticity by means of conscience and resoluteness. The ways of life of Dasein that lives a life without authenticity are idle talk, curiosity, and ambiguity, and such being-in-the-world lives together with other people without problems. Dasein as an individual recognizes anxieties when he faces death to recover authenticity but this is the turning point to transform his normal life to the authentic one. Death cannot be understood via the formal education but should be accpeted through the non-formal and non-continual education that is emphasized by the ontologist. Crisis, awakening, advice, relationships, death during the life motivate the human being to make decisions and to take actions. If the conscience and the resoluteness through forerunning to death are the methods to recover the authenticity, those recovering process should have the educational implications of self-education for the human beings to be the owner of their life. Will represents the conscience and resoluteness that is needed to recover the authenticity. If death is the important motivation to recover the authenticity as well as the critical event to transform the life, death education as one of self-education methods should be the essential subject for future study.
