기초학습부진학생을 잘 지도하는 학교의 특성 : 개념도 방법 적용

국문 초록

본 연구는 기초학습부진학생을 지도하는 데 있어서 효과가 검증된 학교의 구성원을 대상으로 기초학습부진학생의 학력향상에 영향을 준 요인에 대한 면담을 실시하여 어떤 학교의 특성이 기초학력향상에 도움이 되었는지를 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학교 전체적인 접근으로 사례학교의 기초학습부진학생 지도와 관련된 학교 구성원(학교장, 연구부장, 기초학습부진 업무담당자, 기초학습부진학생 지도강사)등 24명의 교사들을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 심층 면담한 자료를 2차에 걸친 통합 및 분류과정을 걸쳐 57개의 단 문장으로 분석하고 이를 분류하기 위하여 현장 교사들이 유사성 검증을 위한 행렬표를 작성하여 군집분석을 실시하였다. 개념도방법(concept mapping)을 활용하여 기초학습부진학생을 잘 지도하는 학교의 특성을 분석한 결과 교사의 열의와 학교의 학생맞춤형 교육, 학습지원을 위한 교사-학생의 협력, 교수 여건 조성을 위한 행․재정적 지원, 학습공동체 문화 형성 등으로 4개 범주 및 57개의 하위 특성으로 표현되었다. 본 연구는 기초학습부진학생 지도하여 효과를 거둔 학교의 특성을 연구한 기초연구로 이 연구를 확장하여 기초학습부진학생을 위한 효과적인 지원정책 및 지원정도에 관한 평가척도로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In order to explore the characteristics of schools teaching underachievers effectively, this study was conducted in following 2 phases. First, 24 teachers teaching underachievers effectively participated in interviewing. School effectiveness was judged by recommendation by experts and outcome of underachievers. The interviews were audio-taped to assure accuracy with the permission of the participants, and were transcribed and recorded in electronic files. Second, the data was analyzed through concept mapping. The analysis resulted in 262 concepts and 57 sub-categories. For further categorization, 24 participants, who were teachers and master course students and doctoral students sorted through each sub-category based on similarities of meaning. The date was analyzed through hierarchical cluster analysis using SPSS. The result was in 4 categories. The characteristics of school teaching underachievers effectively are 1) educational programs specialized for individual student, 2) cooperation teacher-student for effective learning, 3) resources that include financial investment and effective use of resources for effective learning, 4) learning communities. Considering these results, schools and teachers will have to consider the necessary of special education methods in order to teach underachievers effectively This study differs from other studies in the past on underachievers because this study had the overall approach to education for underachievers.
