집단미술치료가 소년보호시설 여자비행청소년의 공격성과 충동성, 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 대상은 A시에 위치한 소년보호시설 Y여자정보산업학교에 15세 이상 19세 이하의 여자소년원생 20명으로 실험집단 10명과 비교집단 10명으로 배치하였다. 연구기간은 주 2회로 2010년 7월부터 2010년 8월까지 총 14회기에 걸쳐 약 90분씩 집단미술치료 프로그램을 실시하였다. 치료 장소는 보호시설 내 교육장으로 밝고 조용하며, 넓은 책상과 의자가 있는 교실을 사용하였다. 연구도구로는 공격성과 충동성, 자아존중감의 효과를 알아보기 위해 공격성 척도(BDH), 충동성 척도(BIS-Ⅱ), 자아존중감 척도(SES), DAS 그림검사를 사전ㆍ사후 실시 후 양적분석을 위해 SPSS WIN 12.0 프로그램을 사용하였고, 질적분석을 위해 집단미술치료 프로그램 단계별 변화를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 집단미술치료는 여자비행청소년의 공격성을 감소시키는 효과가 있었다. 집단미술치료에 참가한 실험집단의 전체 공격성 점수가 사전점수보다 사후점수에서 감소하였으며 p<.05수준에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이로 감소하였다. 둘째, 집단미술치료가 소년보호시설 여자비행청소년의 충동성 감소에 긍정적인 변화를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 실험집단의 전체 충동성이 사전검사보다 사후검사에서 감소되었으나 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 집단미술치료는 여자비행청소년의 자아존중감을 향상시키는 효과가 있었다. 집단미술치료에 참가한 실험집단의 자아존중감 점수가 사전점수보다 사후점수에서 상승하였으며 p<.05수준에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이로 상승하였다. 본 연구는 낮은 자아존중감과 미숙한 감정 표현으로 공격적이고 충동적인 여자비행청소년을 대상으로 집단미술치료를 실시하여 감정 이완과 부정적 감정 표출, 그리고 상호작용을 통한 긍정적 자기 수용을 경험하게 됨으로써 정서적 안정감을 찾게 했다고 본다. 이를 통해 여자 비행청소년들에게 적합한 미술치료 프로그램을 제공함으로써 비행청소년들의 교정과 재비행 예방에 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

I monitored 20 female juvenile delinquents of a Y female information industrial school at a juvenile detention facility in the city A who are aged from 15 to 19. 10 of them are in a test group and the remaining 10 students are in a control group. I performed 14 sessions of 90 minute-long group art therapy twice a week from July to August 2010. The therapies were carried out in an education room in the facility which was bright, silent and equipped with big desks and chairs. The measure of aggression(BDH), measure of impulsiveness(BIS-Ⅱ), measure of self-esteem(SES) and DAS painting examination were applied as research tools before and after the test period in order to evaluate the aggression, impulsiveness and self-esteem. The quantitative data was analyzed through the SPSS WIN 12.0. I also took an qualitative analysis of the changes along the steps of group art therapy program. I obtained the following results from the research project. First, the group art therapy was found out to be effective in reducing the aggression of female juvenile delinquents. The level of aggression of the test group has declined after the therapy program, and the decrease was statistically significant under the p<.05. Second, the group art therapy was found out to be effective in reducing the impulsiveness of female juvenile delinquents. The level of impulsiveness of the test group has declined after the therapy program, but the decrease was not statistically significant. Third, the group art therapy was found out to be effective in raising the self-esteem of female juvenile delinquents. The level of self-esteem of the test group has increased after the therapy program, and the increase was statistically significant under the p<.05. This research results show that the group art therapy helped female juvenile delinquents who have low self-esteem and immature emotional expression to be more emotionally stable by relaxing their emotion, expressing negative emotion and gaining more positive self images. I propose that the proper group art therapy programs need to be provided to female juvenile delinquents in order to correct their behaviors and prevent other delinquencies.
