The Stability and Anti-cancer Role of Immune Lymph from Larinioides cornutus (Araneae: Araneidae)

영문 초록

Immunological studies are poorly investigated in the spiders(Araneae). In the present study, we irradiated the adult orb-weaving spider. Larinioides cornuta(Araneae) by ultraviolet(UV) to produce immune lymph. The effect of UV irradiation time, concentration of ammonium acetate , pH of solution, heat treatment and frozen - thawed treatment on the antibacterial activity of immune lymph were investigate d, as well the anti- cancer role of immune lymph were tested . UV irradiation time had less effect on the antibacterial activity of immune lymph. There was a significant difference in the antimicrobial activity of the different lymph-ammonium acetate mixtures, with those mixtures containing 2M ammonium acetate or less having significantly less antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity of the lymph was significantly affected by pH. At pH 3, 4, 5 and 8 there was no difference in the activity of the lymph compred to the control. At circum-neutral pH (6-8) activity of the lymph was greater than the untreated control. There was a significant effect of temperature and duration on antimicrobial activity, with all treated samples having significantly less antibactrial activity than the control s. Among the treated samples, there was a significant interaction between temperature and time, Freezing and thawing the lymph had no observable effect on the antibacterial activity of the immune lymph, The immune lymph repeatedly suppressed growth of the HeLa cancer cells. The immune lymph from L. cornuta has stable antibacterial activity and good role of anti-cancer , indicating widely use in the future.
